COMMENT

Things can only get better H

lists and stocking up the cupboards ready for December.

I’m writing this just as the news has been announced that we will not be allowed gatherings of more than six people indoors or outdoors, but schools and workplaces will continue as they have been. In a ways it was predictable that we would have to take some steps backwards as we set into the winter months, but naturally it is a concern all the same. My question is, are we prepared for a second wave? Have we learnt our lessons from the previous lockdown and shut down of businesses and the extreme strain on the supply chain? On page 34-35 Bis Henderson take an in depth look at how Coronavirus has changed the retail landscape and how supply chains need to prepare for the change ahead. Also on page 28 we look at The Automation Awards, a new event from Datateam Business Media aimed at recognising the innovation of the automation industry. If you have a comment, opinon or story that you’d like to share, please contact me on rtucker@datateam.co.uk. And if you would like to share your product news or case studies, please contact Hannah, hmoody@ datateam.co.uk.

ello & welcome to the September issue of Factory & Handling Solutions.

Here we are, six months on from the start of lockdown at the late end of March, which really did turn all our lives upside down. Come forward to present day and while the world seems to have started chugging along again, there is still the possibility that we will be looking at another lockdown or at least localised lockdowns over the Christmas period. Stores are already bringing in Christmas products with the idea that the public still has the stocking up state of mind about them, and will have already begun working through Christmas
