ADVERTORIALS Robust switch for use in the field
The new IP67 Ethernet switch from Wieland Electric enables reliable operation even under the most adverse environmental conditions Modular and flexible machine concepts are growing rapidly in importance.
As this happens, more and more automation parts are being connected in a way that is not centralized. This also applies to IP switches, which are no longer only mounted in the control cabinet, but also directly onto the machine. To ensure that network components operate reliably under these conditions, the devices must meet stringent specifications as they are directly exposed to potentially harmful influences such as dust, moisture, and electromagnetic radiation. Wieland Electric offers a suitable solution to this with its new IP67 switch. The wienet IP-SWITCH UMS 8-W-M12 is equipped with a robust metal
housing and can therefore be used under the most adverse environmental conditions. Splashed water, contamination and high temperatures up to 75° Celsius are handled without any problems. In addition, the switch complies with the EN 50155 standard, making it suitable for the harsh requirements of railroad applications.

New Sustainability in bearings brochure released by Brammer Buck & Hickman and SKF
‘Committed to Sustainability’ is a new brochure produced by Brammer Buck & Hickman, the UK’s leading supplier of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services, in partnership with bearings manufacturer SKF. It is available to download now from Brammer Buck & Hickman’s SKF bearings section on its website:
uk.rubix.com/supplier/skf At a time when the world is looking to limit its energy usage and impact on the climate,
pressure is mounting on industry world-wide to reduce its overall environmental impact. Individual bearings may use relatively little energy, but are in such widespread use and are also one of the most frequently replaced components, that building sustainability in to the product and their usage matters. The new Brammer Buck & Hickman ‘Committed to Sustainability’ brochure provides
customers with a guide to getting the most out of their bearings whilst having the least impact on the environment by applying the 3Rs waste hierarchy - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

EUCHNER launches new MBM bus module for EtherCAT P
Following its market firsts in PROFINET and EtherNet/IP connection, the new MBM bus module from safety engineering and industrial safety engineering specialist Euchner (UK) Limited is available in a version that connects to EtherCAT P, which means that every function of the MGB2 Modular can also be used with EtherCAT P. The MBM bus module coordinates all the safety, non-
safety and diagnostic communication signals between the fieldbus system and MGB2 Modular system components – connected to the MBM directly or via M12 standard cables – with the MGB2 Modular connection technology able to operate up to six locking modules on one MBM bus module for communicating both safety and control signals. Besides fewer devices, the user also requires less on-machine cabling and PLC I/Os, ultimately saving on costly failsafe PLC capacity in the control system.
