FORK LIFT TRUCKS
HOW TO MOVE AND LIFT DRUMS WITH A FORKLIFT TRUCK
E
fficiency depends on having the right tools for the job and this is certainly true when lifting and moving large numbers of drums. St Clare Engineering has made handling volumes of drums quicker, safer and easier with a range of waist and rim-gripping drum handling attachments for forklift trucks. For drums with pronounced rolling rims, a single or double- drum handling option is available. Waist gripper models DH-1 or DH-2 are suitable for low-volume drum handling.
In contrast to fixed-diameter waist grippers, our rim grippers accommodate drums of various diameters, size and type even damaged drums. The DLR range includes single, double, triple or four-drum handlers, suitable for all steel, open top and tight head drums, plastic L-ring drums and most fibre board drums, offering great flexibility. ‘Egg shape’ mauser drums or heavy 1000kg drums can also be handled with specially developed gripping heads. St Clare Engineering Ltd is a family business. We have been manufacturing a range of specialist, high-quality fork lift truck drum attachments under the Grab-O-Matic trade name since 1959, to lift, move and tilt drums of various shape, size and weight.
We supply drum handling equipment to the oil, chemical, logistics and engineering industries globally, from the Arctic Circle to the Arabian Gulf. All components are manufactured in the UK and every unit is fabricated, hand- assembled and inspected at our factory in Eastleigh, Hampshire.
