CEL Critical Power expands in the US by
CEL Critical Power, an Ireland-headquartered provider of switchgear and US manufacturing facility in Williamsburg, Virginia
The new 400,000-sq-ft assembly plant, operational since June, represents a capital commitment of $40 million. Marking a major milestone in CEL Critical Power’s international manufacturing capacity on US soil and reinforces the company’s commitment to serving strategic customers in the world’s largest and fastest- growing AI and Cloud infrastructure market, the United States.
The expansion will create over 250 skilled jobs within the next 12 months, increasing to 500 by 2030 across R&D and engineering, manufacturing, quality, testing, logistics and site services. The expansion in the US forms part of CEL Critical Power’s global growth strategy to achieve $500 million in annual revenue by 2030, supported by its expanding manufacturing base in Ireland. The new facility in Virginia brings the company’s overall production capacity to more than 500,000 sq ft worldwide to meet long-term program demand from leading data centre customers. A cornerstone of CEL Critical Power’s US expansion is its collaboration with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) and its registration with the US Department of Defense Skillbridge program, in partnership with Naval Station Norfolk and regional alliances. This initiative provides highly skilled active-duty service members and US military veterans with opportunities to gain valuable civilian work experience and build lasting careers at CEL Critical Power.
