Editor’s note Welcome to the November/December issue of Irish Manufacturing
W
hat a year we have had at Irish Manufacturing Magazine! We have seen the brand grow and thrive this latter part of the year and we couldn’t be more grateful to all that have
continued to read each issue and collaborate with us to bring our audience the most insightful news releases and features within the industry.
With this issue only being my third with the publication, it feels fi tting to also say it has been an absolute pleasure to be involved in the mag and work towards elevating it to even further heights. Through implementing brand new features for 2026, to increasing our social media presence, Irish Manufacturing has continued to grow and reach an even lerger audience. With the end of this past year in mind, we reached out to ibec, who

have commented on their end-of-year ‘Manufacturing in Ireland’ report, as they ‘look back at the impact of trade uncertainty.’ ‘Sharon Higgins, Executive Director of Membership and Sectors at Ibec, said: “The backdrop to this year’s report is defi ned by escalating geopolitical risk. Yet, our manufacturers are once again demonstrating their proven resilience, adapting, innovating and investing strategically to control the controllables.’ (P.34)
We have also been looking forward at the events coming up in 2026, and have come up with a guide, exclusively for you, comprised of the most important and relevant shows of the coming year. From BioPharma & Life Sciences Connected in January to Data Centres Ireland next December, we have you covered.
To see off the last issue of the year, we thought we would round up some of the most widely reoccurring trends developing throughout the past year and into the next. From AI; ‘looking to assist and improve our processes’ (P.14), and the Food & Beverages industry; ‘seeing rise of digitised quality and compliance’ (P.16), to Warehousing; ‘becoming a strategic tool rather than a storage function’ (P.26), and Plastics; ‘keeping manufacturing plastics competitive in a changing world.’ (P30). All that’s left for me to say is thank you all for supporting us this year, we can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store for Irish Manufacturing Magazine, we hope you come along for the ride!
Happy Holidays, see you in the new year! Casey
