FIBRE OPTIC HUBS WITH RING- REDUNDANCY & MESSAGE LEVEL DIAGNOSTICS The ProfiHubs are robust network components providing reliable solutions for fibre rings, spur lines and star- shaped structures in PROFIBUS DP networks. Uniting copper and fibre optic channels through hubs is nothing out of the ordinary, but creating a redundant ring topology out of the two is a whole new ballgame. Procentec stepped up to

the plate to offer end users the opportunity to hit three homeruns in a row: ring redundancy, message level diagnostics and remote monitoring. The Procentec Hubs, in conjunction


with ComBricks and its web browser, provide remote network oversight and insight. This makes the ProfiHub an essential element when it comes down to maintaining the integrity of PROFIBUS DP systems if a host system must be involved. In the past, the application software was not able to identify bus diagnostic information and act accordingly. Now the information is fully available for diagnostics, even at a message level.

CASE: GREAT SUCCESS THROUGH TEAMWORK Warehousing is a vital industry, where the automation market is expected to double by 2025. Recently, Procentec worked with a large logistics company to help with their PROFIBUS and PROFINET network. “In January 2019, I joined my English colleague in Manchester, where a large logistics company was looking for a predictive maintenance tool for their PROFIBUS and PROFINET network. As well as purchasing our tools, the company also asked us to perform a health check on their system, which involved inspecting 12 sites across the UK and another 15 across Europe”. Every PROCENTEC office was involved in this; we all helped each other and worked as one big team to ensure the project was completed. “We’ve got offices all across Europe, so


we’re not just focused on our Head Office in the Netherlands; we work across the world to ensure customers receive the best support and service possible.”


TECHNOLOGY TO CREATE THE FUTURE Moving forward, Procentec will be expanding its range of diagnostic tools, having initially worked with PROFIBUS, before moving on to PROFINET. “We are continuously staying up to date with customers’ needs.
