Editor’s note Welcome to the January/February issue of Irish Manufacturing
A
s spring approaches, there is a renewed sense of momentum across Ireland’s manufacturing sector. Longer days often bring a fresh perspective, and that optimism is
refl ected in the activity, investment and innovation we’ve seen over the past two months.
In this issue, we are pleased to launch our new Cosmetics feature, highlighting one of Ireland’s most dynamic and fast-growing manufacturing segments. The cosmetics and personal care sector continues to demonstrate how Ireland is at the forefront of manufacturing as they consistently build globally competitive brands. It is a timely addition to our coverage as diversifi cation and value- added production remain central themes across the industry.

We are also proud to have Combilift as our cover story sponsor. A standout example of Irish engineering excellence, Combilift continues to expand its global footprint out of Monaghan, while maintaining strong roots in local manufacturing and employment. Its ongoing innovation in material handling solutions refl ects the ambition and capability that defi ne so much of Irish industry today.
Recent months have brought steady investment in automation and energy effi ciency, as manufacturers respond to cost pressures and evolving sustainability targets. Export performance remains resilient in key sectors including pharmaceuticals, medical devices, engineering and food production, despite ongoing geopolitical and supply chain uncertainties. At the same time, skills development and workforce planning remain critical priorities, with industry and education working ever more closely together.
The outlook for 2026 is one of cautious confi dence. Challenges remain, but so too does the determination and ingenuity that continue to position Irish manufacturing strongly on the global stage.
I hope you enjoy this issue, and remember to join our community on our socials to keep up to date with Irish Manufacturing news between issues!
Enjoy!
