NEWS CKF Systems reports of another record trading year

CKF Systems, a leading robotics and automation solutions provider, has achieved its second-best trading year with £7.98 million of orders in 2021. This success paints a positive picture for the growth of UK manufacturing as well as UK businesses’ continuing investment in the latest robotic and automation technology. This success and growth was also reflected

industry-wide with the results from the CBI Industrial Trends Survey showing that UK manufacturing total order books in November 2021 improved to their strongest on record. The survey showed that manufacturers expect output growth to accelerate in the next three months. Jamie Quinton, Managing Director of CKF Systems, said this highlights the importance of automating operations to remain competitive. “This shows how positive things are looking

for UK manufacturing with substantial growth on the horizon. CKF has a wealth of experience and knowledge in our team – our people are our greatest asset, and we handle the full

manufacture and design at our state-of-the-art facility in Gloucester, which means we can be cost-effective while offering solutions that are perfectly suited to you.”

Walker Logistics announces further year-on-year order throughput increase

Online fulfilment solutions specialist, Walker Logistics, saw record months in November and December last year – a 23 per cent year-on- year increase in the number of e-commerce orders picked, packed and dispatched at its Berkshire logistics hub. Thanks mostly to Black Friday and Christmas, the company reported. Walker’s throughput for 2021 jump is particularly impressive given that during the same period 12 months earlier, its online order fulfilment business had leapt by an unprecedented 317 per cent. “Given the size of 2020’s order spike – which coincided with the boom in internet shopping – we are delighted to be able to announce further year-on-year growth,” said Charlie Walker, Head of Marketing at Walker Logistics. “The continued increase in fulfilment activity not only reflects the sustained popularity of internet shopping, but is also due to the fact that we have added a number of important new accounts to our client base throughout the past year.” To keep pace with the ongoing growth in demand, Walker is building a

new 125,000sq ft warehouse adjacent to its existing 250,000sq ft multi- user facility. The work is due to be completed by the end of this year.
