DS Smith accelerates carbon reduction plans

DS Smith has announced its ambitious commitment to align its global operations to a 1.5 degrees scenario as set out in the Paris Climate Agreement. To achieve this, it is accelerating the reduction of carbon emissions for its own operations, as well as those of its partners and suppliers, by committing to reducing its Scope 1, 2 and 3 Green House Gas (GHG) emissions by 46 per cent on an absolute basis by 2030, compared to 2019 levels.
These targets will keep DS Smith, which is a member of the UN’s Race to Zero initiative, in line with its prior commitment to reach Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050. Miles Roberts, Group Chief Executive at DS

appoints new MD R. A. Rodriguez (UK) Limited has announced the appointment of Darren Reynolds as Managing Director with immediate effect. He takes the reins from Peter Williamson, who will now focus on other managerial roles supporting the development of the RARUK Group and, in particular, RARUK Automation Limited. Mr Reynolds has worked with the company – which supplies gears, bearings and power transmission components – for more than 10 years and for the last five has served as its Operations Director. He has over 30 years of experience in the bearings and power transmission industry. Mr Williamson commented: “The company
