Almac, World-leading pharmaceutical developer turns to TorqSense

Technology Ltd, which makes TorqSense, has worked with many OEMs to develop high precision, high speed capping machines for use in pharmaceutical plants and a range of other applications. One of these, Cap Coder, an Oxfordshire neighbour of Sensor Technology, incorporates TorqSense units in its Bench top Cap Coder machines, both of which are used by the Almac Group. “All you have to do is set up a TorqSense transducer in

the capping machine and turn it on.” explains Mark Ingham of Sensor Technology. “The SAW frequencies reflected back are distorted in proportion to the level of torque.” The Almac Group use a number of Cap Coder machines.

When in use, if a torque value outside the acceptable range is encountered, an alarm will trigger the capping machine to identify unacceptable product for immediate rejection.

dding a preset quantity of water to a mix has long been carried out using pails or hosepipes. Not very accurate and certainly not consistent.

Now, Hertfordshire company Aqumeter has developed the ABACUS digital water

measuring system for dispensing accurate preset quantities of water straight into mixing vessels, tanks, etc. Easy to install and simple to use, the ABACUS delivers repeatable results day in, day out, reliably and consistently.

Thousands of units have been sold worldwide to a whole variety of industries where

water is added to powders or granules for mixing purposes. Just dial in the batch amount required and press the start button. The unit stops the flow of water when the required quantity has been delivered...... easy!

includes a patented woven wire gauze ‘sock’ covering the combustion head cylinder. Gas and combustion air are mixed upstream of the combustion head and then pass through precision-located ports and the gauze ‘sock’ to ignite on the external surface of the combustion head. This arrangement enables a very compact flame with a diameter directly related to the burner firing rate, ensuring precise heat control and optimum efficiency at all loads. The high turndown makes RX burners ideal for systems with

variable heat loads where low NOx levels are also required. Riello

Laboratory Balance and Scale Q&A Guide

Providing Solutions for the Entire Product Lifecycle Ever wondered what these buzzwords mean?

Resolution Readability Accuracy

Safety Factor Minimum Weight Tolerances

Or why professional installation and qualification,

preventive maintenance or calibration matter? Over the years, METTLER TOLEDO's weighing experts, sales representatives and maintenance technicians around the world have been asked many questions like this and have put together a selection of the most commonly asked questions - creating the Laboratory Balance and Scale Q&A Guide. The guide is structured according to the life cycle stages, providing answers about balance and scale services, including a weighing term glossary.
