Squire’s employee awarded for going the extra mile!
Each year Squire’s
Garden Centres gives a ‘Made A Difference’ award to one of their employees who has gone over and above the call of duty. The award this
has gone to Stuart Sullivan, Garden Furniture Department Head at Squire’s in Badshot Lea. Martin Breddy, Managing Director at Squire’s, explains why Stuart won the award: “A customer telephoned to say that he wanted to replace
a product, but said that he was unable to drive to the garden centre for another two to three months. The customer later told Stuart that he had been diagnosed with cancer, and because of this the doctors had revoked his driving license. On Stuart’s weekend off he arranged with the customer to go to his house, which is a 20-mile drive from the garden centre, and he replaced his product for a new one. This is definitely going over and above for the customer. Stuart thoroughly deserves our ‘Made A Difference’ award for his actions and excellent customer service.” Stuart received £300 of Squire’s vouchers and an artisan drinks hamper as his prize.

New appointments to AMES UK Senior Leadership Team
The successful development of
AMES UK during an
unprecedented time of uncertainty has been, in no short measure, the result of the dedication, experience and expertise of the managers and staff in Apta, La Hacienda, True Temper and Kelkay. Paul North, AMES UK Managing Director says that he has found outstanding knowledge, experience and dedication in the teams which represents huge development potential for the future of the business. It’s made him very confident of delivering ambitious growth plans over the coming months; one of the early and most significant elements of which is in Supply and Operational Planning. James Hoad has recently been appointed as Supply Chain Director, a role in which he has already built strong connections between commercial
sales teams, demand planning,
production and stock availability. James has more than 10 years’ experience with Apta where he was previously Commercial Director.
Following the continued spread of the Covid-19 outbreak around the world, the high number of infections
that
persist, as well as the delays seen in the distribution of the vaccines, the event organisers have taken the difficult decision to postpone the 8th Global DIY-Summit and released the following official statement: We have continued to closely
monitor the Covid-19 situation and assess whether the Global DIY-Summit 2021 can take
place. Until recently we were confident that the situation would improve enough to allow us to deliver the event to the high standards that are expected and bring together the international home improvement community. While
EU Authorities
implement the highest levels of medical measures and hygiene protocols for travels and considering the mutations of the virus present in all corners of the world, we feel that the delivery of a world-class international
event will be inevitably impacted by such travel restrictions and the persistently high numbers of Covid-19 cases. With this in mind, and following close consultation with our event partners, key stakeholders and hosts, we have taken the decision to postpone the 8th Global DIY-Summit to protect the health of all delegates and sponsors taking part in our event. Further information about the new date for the event will be available in the coming weeks.
RAK Ceramics scores Premier League status with high profile sponsorship deal
Football fans tuning in to watch their teams battle it out in the world’s top leagues this spring are being met with a familiar kbb name on pitch- side advertising hoardings, as RAK Ceramics embarks on a high-profile brand visibility campaign.
The RAK Ceramics logo is being shown during Premier League, La Liga and Serie A football matches throughout March, with digital banners along the perimeter of the pitch showcasing the manufacturer’s logo during TV broadcasting.

Ben Bryden, Sales and Marketing Director at RAK Ceramics UK, commented: “To have such a high level of visibility
at what is the world’s most popular sport is brilliant exposure for the brand, which should result in more traffic through to our network of retailers here in the UK. Viewing figures for these matches are always high and even more so while fans are unable to support their teams in person due to the pandemic, which means more eyes on the RAK Ceramics logo than ever before!”
RAK Ceramics has a presence at a total of 11 matches, including Crystal Palace vs Chelsea on 10 April and Fulham vs Tottenham Hotspur on 24 April.
