Scott Parnell appoints new sales director
Civils, drainage supplies, rail and water management specialist Scott Parnell has promoted Ian Griggs to the position of sales director. Mr Griggs joined the company in July to oversee its new hard landscaping division, and will be responsible for focusing on the company’s sales, operations and strategic direction.
Commenting on his new role, Mr Griggs said: “I am delighted to be taking up this opportunity to help shape Scott Parnell’s future. The business already excels in so many ways with its innovation and customer service. I want to build on this success and continue to evolve the company’s offer as one of the market leaders in the supply of
rail and water management
products alongside our vast range of civil engineering materials.”
Hillier appoints Adam Dunnett to board
Hillier Nurseries has announced the appointment of Adam Dunnett to its board of directors, effective from April 4, 2019. He will also continue in his role as amenity sales director. Hillier chairman Robert Hillier commented: “We are delighted to welcome Adam to the board; he brings with him a wealth of industry experience. Our top- quality trees have always been a huge part of Hillier business
and our amenity team continues to go from strength to strength. We are delighted to have more representation at board level and are excited for the future.” Mr Dunnett joined Hillier in 2018. In his role as amenity sales director, he leads the sales team and helps drive tree sales across all key customer market sectors, promoting Hillier Trees as the leading supplier of high quality, UK grown semi-mature trees. “Hillier is a business I’ve admired
for more than 30 years, either as a competitor or customer,” he said. “I feel honoured to now be part of the board of this wonderful family business, which has been part of horticulture for over 150 years. The team I’ve joined is full of experience and, more importantly, has massive enthusiasm to continue driving the business forward. As one of the few UK growers of semi- mature trees, we have a very exciting future ahead of us.”

Travis Perkins announced that John Carter will step down as CEO and from the Travis Perkins board on August 5, 2019. He will be succeeded by Nick Roberts, currently CEO of Atkins (formerly the business of WS Atkins plc). Mr Roberts will join the business as a director of Travis Perkins and CEO designate on July 1, 2019. To ensure a smooth handover, Mr Carter will remain with the Group until the end of 2019. Former Ridgeons MD, Angela Rushforth has been promoted
to the role at Travis Perkins’ pipeline and heating solutions business, as management reshuffle continues.
Ms Rushforth first joined Travis Perkins in 2015 when she was appointed to lead own-brand development across the group. In her new role, Ms Rushforth will report into the chief operating officer for trade merchanting, Frank Elkins, who took up his position last month as part of a management restructure. Mr Elkins reports into CEO John Carter, and has been appointed with immediate effect, following

Travis Perkins’ announcement of plans to simplify and focus on trade customers. As part of
this restructure, the group
is removing the company’s divisional structure “to reduce
complexity, speed up decision making and reduce costs”. In his new role, he will oversee running of Travis Perkins
the
builders’ merchants, BSS, Benchmarx, Keyline and CCF.
