Home Hardware Southwest Ltd - more than just a supplier

Owned by retailers like these Optional Consumer Advertising Brochures

Home Hardware are helping their members increase their footfall through optional consumer advertising brochures with four, eight, sixteen and twenty page options to suit all sizes of store, as well as other various marketing initiatives and support. “Once I joined Home Hardware, within five years I’d doubled the turnover, just with doing the brochures and promotions and the stock availability and support” said Philip Wyatt from Ilminster Home Hardware.

Home Hardware pays more than £190K to Members

Home Hardware Southwest Ltd last year paid £190,000 to its members in the form of dividends and rebates. Home Hardware Southwest Ltd Chairman, David Adams said

“We are always delighted to pay our members rebates to further reward the loyalty, commitment and support we are receiving from our suppliers, which has helped make this possible.” “The Home Reward” Rebate programme, further recognises our

retailer’s commitment to Home Hardware, their own company” added Home Hardware Southwest Chief Executive Martin Elliott. “The increased levels of support, for both warehouse and direct shipment purchases, has enabled us to increase the rebate payments. The more our members order, the more efficient it becomes, enabling us to return savings to members”.

Industry leading Buyers Guide

The Buyers Guide covers over 20,000 lines and gives detailed consumer related text for each product so it can also be used as a selling-aid. It’s in full colour, discounts are coded and all the relevant barcodes are included. There’s a full product to brand index and it’s re-printed every six months.

Free ecommerce solution for Members

Home Hardware also provides a modern professional ecommerce solution for its Retailers at no cost to them. The main objective is to promote footfall in store through its Click and Collect service to its Retailers. All suitable products on its national promotions and catalogues are available for consumers to purchase. For consumers who prefer home delivery, they can choose this option whereby Home

Home Hardware is more than just a supplier. It’s owned by its Retailers and run entirely for their benefit. Their mission as a Dealer Owned Company is to supply members with quality products and services, to provide them with the programmes to operate efficient and profitable stores, and by assisting them in serving the consumer with competitive prices and superior service.

Firmly focused on the needs of the membership, they work on the basis that by driving consumer demand through effective optional marketing, members’ business increases, which in turn increases overall business with suppliers.

In essence, Home Hardware is about “people helping people” – the staff helping members and members helping their customers. A family of retailers working together to secure their future. Significant purchasing power together with the use of efficient systems enables them to provide their customers with excellent service and value.

They have a trading policy of only dealing with bonafide independent Retailers. This means they do not deal with Internet only traders without a physical retail store and they don’t deal with any end users or tradesmen. The reason for this is they don’t want to deal with their Retailer’s customers.

Hardware will take the payment and dispatch the goods with all the retail profit being distributed to the Retail Member for that area.

Scanning Orders

All of their warehouse picking is done using scanners to check product barcodes. This has significantly improved the accuracy of their picking, reducing errors and resulting queries and credit notes for Retailers.

Using the scanner has eliminated the need for them to check the orders.
