NEWSROUND Marshalls profits jump 70%


Building products manufacturer Marshalls posted vastly improved half-year results for the six months to June 30, with pre-tax profits jumping 70% to £19.7m, on revenue that was more-or-less unchanged, at £317.8m (£319.5 for the same period a year ago). The group stated that improved service and customer engagement in its core Landscaping division supported market share momentum and the beginning of a profit recovery.


Chief executive officer, said: “We have delivered a resilient


first half performance, despite subdued end markets, with adjusted profit growth delivered in line with expectations. This reflects our reinvigorated focus on sharper execution, continued financial discipline and the benefits of actions taken through


FY25 to create a leaner and more focused operating platform. “We remain focused on what we can control: service, cost, cash, working capital and disciplined capital allocation. We are not factoring a material market recovery into our second half assumptions, and the operational progress delivered to date, together with the strength of our diversified portfolio, supports the Board’s confidence in the Group’s outlook for the full year and our medium-term growth potential.”


MKM Building Supplies expands with New Milton acquisition


MKM has acquired NMSB’s builders merchant, creating MKM New Milton.


The new branch will continue to be led by NMSB branch managers Matt Lock and Richard Froggett, along with the existing NMSB team.


Investment is already being planned for the branch, with the expanded branch set to offer 12,500 sq ft of warehouse, retail and trade counter space, alongside increased stockholding and an expanded range across building materials, timber,


plumbing and heating, kitchens and bathrooms.

Keyline reopens Braintree branch following £700,000 investment


Civils and drainage specialist Keyline has officially reopened its Braintree, Essex branch following a £700,000 investment. The investment has enabled the branch to carry an expanded product range and a higher volume of stock, as well as introducing a new one-way system in the yard to help customers collect their orders and get back on the road faster.


The branch has also expanded its vehicle fleet, offering a range of vehicles from 32-tonne crane lorries to 12-tonne flatbeds.
