Owner and managing director of Henshaws Roofing & Building Supplies, Adrian Shelley, has been elected to the BMF (Builders Merchants Federation) board.
Since acquiring Henshaws, Shelly has overseen its growth from a single-site roofing and builders’ merchant into five branches across Greater Manchester, including two specialist building plastics branches trading under the PRP brand.
Shelly will be taking up his position on October 1 2026, replacing Merritt & Fryers managing director, Rachel Fryers, who is stepping down from the board at the end of September.
The Structural Timber Association (STA) has announced Darren Jarman, managing director of Lowfield Timber Frames, as the latest addition to its board of
directors.
With over 25 years’ experience in the UK timber construction sector, spanning design, technical development, manufacturing and business leadership, Jarman brings a wealth of expertise to the STA Board.
Martin Carroll
Duravit UK & Ireland has announced that managing director Martin Carroll will be retiring at the end of 2026. As part of a planned succession process, Jamie Welch has been appointed managing director of Duravit UK & Ireland.

He will be working closely with Carroll until the end of 2026 to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.
In the new role, Welch will
be responsible for further strengthening Duravit’s position in the UK and Irish markets, expanding customer partnerships, and driving the company’s continued growth strategy in the region.
Wall panel manufacturer Grant Westfield, has continued to invest in the future of the business, making two more promotions within its sales team.

Kim Wickes, previously business development manager, has been promoted to key accounts manager - North, and business development manager - Southeast, William Prime, has been promoted to technical sales manager.

Bathroom manufacturer SONAS Bathrooms has announced the appointment of three area sales managers to strengthen its UK team.
Grant Westfield has celebrated the retirement of supply chain manager Paul McKenzie, who has stepped down after 42 years with the company.
During the event, Mckenzie was presented with his long service award, which had been commissioned to commemorate his many years of dedication and service to Grant Westfield, as colleagues reflected on his contribution to the business.
Grant Westfield has also named a meeting room at its Edinburgh headquarters in his honour, creating a permanent tribute to his contribution over the past 42 years.
The Structural Timber
Association (STA) has appointed Iain McIlwee as its new chief executive officer.
McIlwee will take up the role on 2nd November 2026,
succeeding Andrew Orriss, who is stepping down but will remain with the association, working alongside the Board to ensure a smooth and effective transition.
Agnes Taylor has been appointed area sales manager for West London and the Home Counties, Rebecca Abela has been appointed area sales manager for North London and Anglia, and Lydia Harvey has joined the SONAS Bathrooms team as area sales manager for the Midlands. The three new area sales managers will work closely with UK sales director at SONAS Bathrooms, Dean Stokes, alongside the wider sales team.
National Timber Systems (NTS) has announced the promotion of divisional production manager Andrew Watters to production director. This latest appointment
follows Premier Forest Product’s acquisition of NTS at the start of the year, safeguarding its operations in Bristol, Sheffield, Newcastle and Catterick.
In his new role, Watters will take on the management of Health and Safety, as well as production and operations across all NTS branches including Newcastle, Catterick, Sheffield, and Bristol as well as NTS’ additional Timber Engineering in Newport.
Commercial director at SIG Roofing, Duncan Winter, has been elected chair of NFRC’s Roofing Suppliers Group (RSG) Committee. He will be supported in his role by Stuart Nicholson, managing director of Marley Ltd as Vice Chair. These appointments will be formalised in the Terms of Reference for the RSG Committee Meeting in September at the NFRC’s offices in Central London.

Flat roofing supplier Flex-R has promoted its north-eastern business development manager, Joe Ellis, to a new position within the business as national key account manager, with
immediate effect.
Ellis joined Flex-R in March 2022 as the sales representative for the North of England. Over the past two years, he has focused on developing his skill set in key account management and will be rolling out his successful track record on a national level to the head offices of national merchants.
Adhesive manufacturer, Setcrete has appointed Matthew Mayor as territory sales representative for Wales and the South West of England.
His role includes working with builders’ merchants and tradespeople to optimise their experience of Setcrete products from both a product performance perspective and in terms of providing industry-leading customer and technical support.
He will also be able to call on the support of Setcrete’s technical service department to offer merchants and customers expert advice on all aspects of the Setcrete range from product selection to full specification recommendations for complex installations.
