Jewson and Howarth Timber unite for charity football match
On June 29 2025 builders merchants Jewson and Howarth Timber will come together for a special charity football match at Gigg Lane, the home of Bury FC, in support of The Christie Charity and cancer treatment centre. From 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, families and supporters can enjoy a range of activities including face painting, a caricaturist, and a sweet table. Jason Cadogan, general manager at Jewson, says: “Bringing two merchants together for one common cause shows the power of community beyond competition. We’re proud to stand side by side with Howarth Timber in support of The Christie Charity. This match at Gigg Lane isn’t just about football - it’s about making a real difference together. This event is more than just a game – it’s a chance for us to give back to a cause that means so much to so many.”
“The Christie’s incredible work has touched the lives of our friends, families, and customers alike, providing world- class care and unwavering support during some of life’s most difficult moments. Every pound raised brings us closer to helping them continue their vital mission... I hope to captain the team to victory - if I get picked!” A spokesperson from The Christie Charity expressed their gratitude, saying, “Jewson have been a charity partner of the hospice for many years now and with their help we have been able to fund life-saving treatments and change lives. It’s fantastic to see them putting together another event in aid of our charity. We cannot thank them enough. Good luck!”
