The Partners and Suppliers of NBG refused to be bowed by the various lockdowns and hassle caused by Covid, continuing instead to expand, grow and support their local customers.
January 2021 ¡ Scottish Partner, Cowal Building and Plumbing Supplies acquires Catherwood Construction Materials in a deal that will strengthen both brands. Cowal is retaining the Catherwood name and team, while investing in the business to enhance the skills of their employees and material assets. ¡ Twelve new suppliers joined the NBG family including ESi Controls, Inta tec, Traditional Brick and Stone, Pinnacle Construction Materials, Toolsaver, BIZ Power Tools, Growtivation, Polypipe Civils, GRS Building Products, PPG Architectural Coatings, Rustins, and Axus Décor. ¡ Resapol launches their new Merchant Support Brochure 2021. ¡ Builders’ Merchant Company Ltd announces relocation to a bigger branch in Hull. ¡ Lakes Showering Spaces achieves carbon Neutral Plus status.
February 2021 ¡ Rose Group opens a new branch in Corby. ¡ PGR Timber adds two new Essex sites – Chelmsford and Maldon.

March 2021 ¡ NBG’s existing Partners are joined by Sovini Trade Supplies Ltd, Buildland Ltd and Towy Works Ltd. ¡ Mannok invests in a huge rebrand campaign. ¡ National Timber Group buys Hymor Timber. ¡ Grant & Stone buys RGB, Total Plumbing and Build It (Gloster).
April 2021 ¡ Ibstock achieves Brickmakers Quality Charter certification. ¡ New Partner Bridport Building Supplies Limited joins the group.

NBG launches new PIM, with Knauf Insulation the first Supplier to fully embrace it. Knauf Insulation worked closely with NBG on the development and delivery of PIM, a first of its kind system in the independent builder’s merchant sector, helping NBG Partners and Suppliers to sell products more efficiently through access to real-time product and pricing data. ¡ Rose Group acquires Pattrick & Thompson Ltd in Kings Lynn.
