The man leading the training is Karl Walker. Currently working on Alpha’s helpline, Walker has been with Alpha for three years, with an ambition to become an installer himself. Knowing everything about Alpha boilers and products for his trouble-shooting role on the phones, his talent for speaking to people and helping them find solutions to their boiler issues was quickly noted and he was made a trainer at Alpha’s headquarters. “It really doesn’t feel

like work.” says Walker “Knowledge and being able to share experience is everything in this industry and working with a group of people face-to-face is so much better than trying to explain things over the phone. I can learn from the engineers I train as much as they learn from me.”
Walker explains that Alpha have always supported his wishes to become an installer and are even paying for his own gas training to help him fulfil his dream. BMJ
