ADVERTORIAL TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION

M12 Connectors for BUS Systems

Hylec APL announces completely submersible TeePlug® TH381

the new TeePlug® TH381 plug and socket electrical micro connector designed for underwater use and harsh environment installations. Offering the highest levels of reliability, TeePlug TH381 Series connectors provide complete protection against the effects of permanent submersion in water to ensure electrical connection, even when subjected to high pressure water jets. The IP68/IP69K rated TeeTubeTH381 models also prevent dust and dirt ingress. Measuring only 14mm in diameter, the TeeTubeTH381 Series suits outdoor lighting applications, such as architectural lighting, street lighting, underwater lighting, illumination of road signs and billboards and the connection of interior and exterior Class 2 electrical devices. TeePlug TH381 connectors feature a push-pull design

H

that installs up to 80% faster than competitive waterproof connectors, saving valuable time on-site and reducing cost.

ylec-APL, the specialist supplier of electrical components and enclosures, announces the launch of

M

-style connectors are categorised by the size of the threaded locking nut; these include M8, and M12 connectors. Tough and robust, these waterproof, circular screw connectors are the de-facto standard in the process industry

for reliable automated connections: protected to IP67. M8/M12 connectors provide a future-proof interface that supports higher-bandwidth needs, meeting the requirements of up to 10GB/s. All the leading BUS protocols are also available.

M12 connectors may also be coded. The common used keyed types are:

A-Coded; used in CAN-Bus, DeviceNet B-Coded; used to prevent mating with standard sensor A coding and in field buses like Profibus DP D-Coded; 4 pole used with Industrial Ethernet & Profinet. Ethernet M12 plugs and jacks with 100 MHz

X-Coded; 8 pole used in 10 Gbps Ethernet acc. to IEEE 802.3 CAT 6A – X-Coded connectors are ideal for industrial network applications in harsh environments. It is possible to transmit up to 10 Gbp/s and the X-coding design conforms to IEC 61076-2-109. Overmoulded male M12 double-ended cordsets and male M12 to male RJ45 CAT6A cordsets are currently available. All cordsets are available in standard 2, 3, 5 and 10 meter lengths. Suitable for Power over Ethernet (PoE, PoE plus, and UPoE)

Bus Systems

Bus technology has advanced in industrial automation. The connectors required for data transmission are very BUS- specific. To access the complex world of Bus technology, Conec offers connectors for Profibus DP and Industrial Ethernet.

Profibus is a manufacturer-dependent, open fieldbus system for a variety of applications in manufacturing, processing and building automation.

Industrial Ethernet is the general term for all applications that use the Ethernet standard to network devices used in industrial automation.

Versatile series of inductive proximity switches for up to +160 °C W

ith the IGMH series, sensor specialists EGE provide a range of inductive proximity switches that are particularly suited for use in

extreme environmental conditions such as in drying kilns, in food industry machinery, or in heavy industry applications. Suitable for continuous operation, the compact high-temperature sensors are designed for a wide range of ambient temperatures from -25 °C to +160 °C. The sensors are equipped with a robust housing made of 1.4571 grade stainless steel and PEEK. They are available in different versions as required – the line-up e.g. includes IP68/69K-protected types that are waterproof and easily withstand high pressure cleaners. IGMH series sensors can also come in boil-and-steam-resistant versions

with silicone cable connections – optionally available with additional FDA- certification for use in the food industry – or in special versions for applications where oily media, such as rolling oil, are present.

Amphenol’s Enhanced Connector Series Distributes High Current DC Power in a Compact Design

high current DC power in a compact form. Designed to connect wire to wire, wire to board as well as busbar terminations, the Amphe-PD series distributes higher currents with less heat than similar-sized connectors on the market. Ideal for use in datacenter equipment, robotics and industrial automation, the new connector series is available in busbar mount, right angle and vertical SMT compatible PCB mount offering wire terminations ranging from 12AWG to 4AWG. The Amphe-PD features RADSOK technology for higher amperage, lower t-rise, less resistance and lower mating

OMC expands into new manufacturing facility

O

MC, the pioneer in optoelectronics manufacturing, has completed its move into a new, purpose-built

manufacturing facility, reflecting an increase in demand for both its bespoke and off-the-shelf optoelectronic solutions. The company - known for its LED and fibre-optic expertise as ‘the problem solvers’ - has seen significant growth in two areas, customer-specific LED backlighting for LCD displays, and fibre optic cable assemblies, transmitters and receivers for use in industrial applications. The move into a state-of-the-art new facility will, they say, enable the company to support this growth and develop new solutions. OMC’s Commercial Director, William Heath: “We have

occupied several facilities during our 30+ year history, and are delighted to have now constructed a factory designed specifically for our complex needs. We have dedicated development and assembly departments, as well as specialist test areas and a new machine shop capable of both prototyping and mass component production.”
