From the editor Hybrid

shapes the future

T

he government’s ambition for the UK to reach Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050 is shaping the future of

heating, putting hybrid heating systems and alternative solutions in the spotlight. Hybrid systems combine different heating technologies to maximise energy efficiency and provide backup when one system fails. This is crucial in the UK to reduce energy consumption, lower carbon emissions and foster reliability. In addition, alternative heating solutions, such as heat pumps, can help homeowners and businesses save money on heating bills and help reduce reliance on expensive fossil fuels. This is especially important in the UK where energy costs can be high. This month, starting on pg 20, we put the

focus on Hybrids and Alternative Solutions courtesy of three experts in the field. Firstly Klima-therm highlights the benefits of propane as an alternative fuel, while Worcester Bosch gives their take on the future of hybrid heating. Finally Alpha Innovation explains why

the hybrid approach could accelerate heat pump uptake. Other features this month include Energy Efficiency, Hospitals & Healthcare, Air Conditioning and Domestic Heating.
