Heating manufacturer Alpha has launched a new hybrid heating system, E-Tec Hybrid.
The new packaged heat pump solution offers the perfect pathway into renewable heating without losing the reliability offered by the tried-and- tested gas boiler. Offering a full hybrid solution, the Alpha E-Tec 33 boiler is connected with the Alpha E-Tec EHP external heat pump unit. Combine this with the Smartech controls, and you have high efficiency heating and hot water, providing consumers with a green heating alternative. LOCHINVAR
Lochinvar has launched one of the UK’s most powerful heat pump water heaters. The Amicus Aquastore has an output of 8kW and 455 litres of hot water storage capacity in a compact monobloc package combining heat pump and storage vessel. It can deliver up to 65˚C hot water in both efficiency and hybrid modes and up to 490 litres in a peak hour with a 50˚C temperature rise.
Aimed at the burgeoning low carbon replacement market for gas- fired water heaters in commercial buildings, it is designed to minimise disruption by avoiding the need for wholesale changes to existing heating and hot water systems.
Its space saving monobloc construction means it is easy to manoeuvre. It is also a straightforward ‘plug and play’ process to set up and commission.
Heat pump technology manager James Cooper said the solution dramatically reduces the energy usage and carbon footprint without the need for a complex, disruptive and expensive installation.

Domus Ventilation has expanded its HRXE range of Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) units with the launch of HRXE- ZEUS.
HRXE-ZEUS has been introduced to meet ventilation requirements for large residential properties, which require a more powerful system to deliver the airflow required to meet Building Regulations Part F. HRXE-ZEUS high performance MVHR system combines supply and extract ventilation in one system. Using an advanced heat exchanger, up to 95% of the heat typically lost in waste, stale air is efficiently recovered and used to temper the fresh air drawn into the building. The filtered, pre-warmed air is distributed to areas of the home, effectively meeting part of the heating load in energy efficient dwellings. The system features two independent fans which have full-speed control for background and boost ventilation rates.

GILBERTS
Gilberts Blackpool claims its new MFS-HR surpasses performance of anything comparable on the market for commercial and public sector applications. Building on Gilberts’ pioneering MFS hybrid ventilation unit, the combined hybrid unit can achieve up to 75% heat recovery. The market-leading heat recovery performance means that when employed as part of a sustainable strategy including photovoltaic arrays, MFS-HR could achieve energy negative status.
MFS-HR is a stand-alone unit installed through the façade to ventilate, cool and warm the interior. Initial tests indicate each MFS-HR will provide up to 4kw heating and 2kw cooling capacity whilst still delivering an airflow rate of up to 470l/s. It could cost as little as £10/annum/zone to operate.
