Shaping the future of heating

H

eat networks hold great potential for decarbonising heating in the UK, providing an effective way to

reduce carbon emissions and boost energy efficiency. By incorporating renewable energy

sources like biomass, solar thermal, and networked ground source heat pumps, these systems can deliver sustainable heating to both residential and commercial buildings. This centralized method improves energy distribution efficiency and aids the transition away from fossil fuels. As regulations change, investing in heat networks now allows stakeholders to seize new opportunities, ensuring a cleaner and more resilient heating future for communities throughout the UK. In this month’s issue of HVR heat networks are targeted from two angles. Firstly John March, GTC COO explains

how a networked ground source heat pump system (GSHP) works and explores the benefits. (See pg 19). Secondly Whitecode Consulting’s Alex

Hill underlines the importance imminent new regulations and why building owners and managing agents need to seek independent advice to ensure their heat networks comply. (See pg 20). Both are well worth a read. Enjoy!
