Adveco appoints Greg Brushett as sales director

C

ommercial hot water specialist Adveco has announced the appointment of Greg Brushett to the role of sales director.

This appointment supports the company’s expansion in response to the continued demands for bespoke gas, and growing demands for electric and renewable approaches to provide domestic hot water systems in commercial properties.

David O’Sullivan, managing director, Adveco said: “Greg’s tenure as UK sales manager has seen the company grow as it expands its remit to encompass new technologies to deliver more sustainable, robust and cost-eff ective means for providing hot water for commercial buildings. He proved invaluable in guiding the business through the COVID-19 pandemic, expanding sales opportunities despite the turbulent market conditions. Today we are extremely pleased that he has accepted the position of Sales Director, and we welcome him as a full member of the board to further shape the business as we support the challenge of making the UK net zero by 2050.”

Greg said: “I am honoured to accept the invitation to join the board as sales director. Adveco has a long, illustrious record in the UK. It was instrumental in the introduction of gas water heating for commercial projects, and now we are pioneering low-energy systems that deliver on new demands for sustainability. I couldn’t be more excited about the future possibilities for the company and growing the sales team to support new goals.”

New CIBSE accredited heat pump CPD and White Paper

H

amworthy Heating has announced the arrival of two new resources – ‘An Introduction to Heat Pumps’ CIBSE Approved CPD and ‘The Hamworthy Roadmap to Decarbonisation’ White Paper. Ideal for specifi ers and installers wishing to understand more about heat pumps and the latest industry developments, ‘An Introduction to Heat Pumps’ is the latest CIBSE-accredited Continuous Professional Development (CPD) course from Hamworthy Heating. Covering the main heat pump operating principles such as energy, refrigeration, technology and effi ciency, the latest CPD off ering from highlights the diff erent types of commercial heat pump equipment available and explores the infl uencing factors which need to be considered before heat pump selection. Also focusing on heat pump design principles, ‘An Introduction to Heat Pumps’ looks at the main points to consider when it comes to designing a heat pump system, before concluding with an overview of market drivers and government incentives.

To further support the transition to low carbon heating and hot water, the new ‘Hamworthy Roadmap to Decarbonisation: Planning Your Journey’ White Paper features an in-depth examination of decarbonisation. Looking at the current landscape; the latest White Paper from Hamworthy discusses the challenges of implementing a roadmap to decarbonisation and how heat pumps, such as the Tyneham monobloc air source heat pump, play a pivotal role in this transition.

MHIAE delivers energy effi cient air con to eco developmentteams

H

igh effi ciency air conditioning equipment manufactured by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioning Europe (MHIAE) is helping to breathe life into a derelict former bus depot in London. The Hackney Depot project, the fi rst in London by 6AM Development, involves the revival of a long-abandoned 2000m² space above the depot which is now dedicated to local creatives, and aims to help redress the decline of maker space/light industrial facilities across the capital. Kent based air conditioning specialists, Doveley Air, specifi ed and installed a system that was in keeping with the ethos of the project, low global warming potential products were selected that operate with R32 refrigerant and can still provide heating at -20°C ambient temperature. System effi ciencies are as high as ERP A++ with energy effi ciency ratios and coeffi cient of performance rated as high as 4.49 and 4.37 respectively. A collection of 4-way cassettes of varying capacities are spread throughout the building, each connected to an MHIAE RC-EX3A eco-touch screen wired remote controller.

Ease of use is supported by two programmable function buttons on the front of the controller which allow quick access to functions such as energy saving setback modes and particular operating modes. System effi ciency is improved, and operating cost reduced with additional motion sensors in the cassette fascias. These motion sensors can be set to either adjust desired room setpoints or used to place the unit in standby.

Smart heating solutions with Unisenza Plus wireless heating controls

S

mart heating solutions such as Myson’s new Unisenza Plus wireless heating controls help to create future-proof heating systems that off er

signifi cant energy saving benefi ts in both the short and long term. According to Julian Clegg, product manager at Myson UK: “The Unisenza Plus range is the logical next step with a wireless heating control solution that allows users to easily connect and control numerous heating and cooling devices at the touch of a button. The Plus refers to the extended range of possibilities and compatible products as well as the added value of a completely wireless network that allows for optimum fl exibility in both new construction and renovation projects.”

Julian continues: “With only a few components such as the Unisenza Plus Gateway, the electronic thermostatic head, the wireless thermostat and receiver, it’s very easy to make diff erent combinations and confi gure the entire building with a single control range. The gateway can connect up to 100 end devices, for example, boiler, room thermostats, bathroom radiators, electric radiators, radiators with smart TRVs, etc, allowing for a fully tailored indoor climate comfort solution that evolves with the building as well as the occupants’ needs and habits. That, in turn, leads to more comfort and energy effi ciency, a win for the end users’ budget and also for the environment.”
