Ground-breaking compressor technology offers up to 50% savings

A

ermec has launched Aersave, a ground-breaking technology for scroll compressors that can protect customers from rising energy costs by improving the energy efficiency of their chillers and deliver up to 50% energy savings.

Compressors on chillers are large energy users and replacing them with more energy efficient systems is primarily the only solution. But now there’s an alternative with Aersave.

“Aersave can help businesses significantly improve the energy efficiency of their chillers by as much as 50% whilst increasing their lifespan and boosting their ROI,” says Paul Lawrence, Aermec UK managing director. Aersave is a major leap forward in chiller technology. It is a proven innovation that can help mitigate against rising energy costs whilst increasing performance levels, longevity of existing chillers and help customers transition towards the government’s Net Zero target. The Aersave smart compressor controller converts any 3-phase fixed speed compressor to a variable speed compressor. Aersave can be used on any manufacturers’ chillers, operates with any refrigerant and is compatible with all brands of BMS systems.

By enabling compressors to work smarter, Aersave eases reliance on the electrical grid, increases reliability, offers compressor protection, and can easily be retrofitted by any air conditioning or refrigerant engineer.

Combine but also separate the old from the new for an efficient heating systemrange of applications

T

o help support the installation of its new Stratton mk3 wall-hung condensing boiler onto existing heating systems, Hamworthy Heating has announced its latest range of plate heat exchangers, for increased boiler protection and performance.

Energy-efficient boilers are now the industry standard, but this can be an issue when integrating a new condensing boiler into an existing system and pipework. Challenges to consider are potential un-controlled leaks from existing systems causing raw oxygenated water to be constantly added to the system. This adds to the corrosion of the system and boilers creating problems from blocking heat exchangers with suspended solids and corrosion problems from system metals. To bridge the gap between old and new systems the Stratton mk3 is available with a range of easy-to-install AHRI certified plate heat exchangers to protect the new boilers from old systems. Plate heat exchangers separate the boiler from a secondary circuit (existing system). This prevents the risk of debris from entering the boiler which could result in expensive breakdowns. Furthermore, as limescale and system debris can block heat exchanger waterways, by utilising a plate exchanger, overall system efficiency is optimised. Featuring a large surface area with thin plates to provide efficient heat transfer, the plate heat exchangers also help to reduce energy consumption, which in turn, can help to lower energy costs.

Enviro conscious Scottish couple opt for

Panasonic Aquarea L Series R290 heat pumpcommercial boiler?

A

n energy and environmentally conscious Scottish couple opted to install the Panasonic Aquarea L Series Air to Water heat pump in their Scottish bungalow.

The new installation was completed with the Panasonic Smart Cloud control system which allows the couple to have total control of their heating and cooling. The system was installed by RDI Renewables, a Panasonic accredited Pro Partner. The solution provides high water temperature as well as being connected to the existing indoor radiators throughout the bungalow. The heat pump is integrated with solar PV roof panels to further enhance the energy efficiency and minimising the environmental impact. The new Aquarea L Series can provide an increased output water temperature of 75˚C making it an ideal retrofit solution to connect to existing radiators. The couple have also saved on space as the all-in-one unit is housed in the garage and incorporates the hot water tank.

Ryan Pollard, managing director of RDI Renewables said: “The L Series new indoor units are quicker and simpler to install as they are pre-plumbed with the DHW cylinder. We also found moving the unit into position was simpler as the box shape is easier to manoeuvre.
