New guide is welcome
I
was quite surprised to note that there has not been an industry go-to guide for water treatment in commercial systems. That was until the Water Treatment and Conditioning of Commercial Heating Systems Guide was launched quite recently. Boiler manufacturers and water treatment companies have partnered with the ICOM Energy Association to produce the guide, which can help to prevent a range of potentially disastrous problems for commercial systems. There are a number of notable featues about this 60-page
commercial guide, not least of which are that it comprehesively covers all areas of water treatment and is written in easy to understand language. For me, however, the most important is that boiler manufacturers and water treatment companies are all on board with it, so it’s likely to be followed by the entire industry, instilling a culture of the right water treatment from the design stage. Read all about the new guide on page 29 in our Water Treatment feature.
This issue also includes Pipes, valves & fittings, Training,
Renewables and our monthly HVR Domestic feature is back too. • Entries into the HVR Awards are currently before the judges, apart from our online vote categories which are open for nomi- nations until September 1. We would like to thank everyone who has entered so far and we hope to see you on October 26 at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel when the winners will be revealed.
