Swegon Air Management

Air Diffusion has met the challenge of balancing healthy conditions with a discreet design with its FlowBar high capacity linear slot diffusers. These combine high air handling capacity with maximum flexibility. For ceilings or sidewalls, their modular form helps them blend into any design. Integral pattern controllers are between 300 - 600mm long, allowing the airstream to be directed left and right. Slot sizes are 25mm, 38mm and 51mm, with single section lengths up to 2400mm. The standard finish is a polyester powder coating. Models include the FlowBar High Throw (HT) series for ceilings. Surface-mounted and plaster frame styles are among available options. The FlowBar Jet Throw (JT) series offers wing blades for the airstream to be jetted horizontally. Jet throw blades allow extended throws in high bay applications.

Premises refurbishment for a ductwork manufacturer in Basingstoke required good, cost-effective air conditioning. Comfort Building Services installed a Haier Super Match Multi condensing unit, supplied by Pure Air Distribution. Price was not the only reason for to choose Haier from Pure Air. Comfort Building Services MD, Dave Boshier, commented: “I couldn’t fault the price or customer service. The installation went very smoothly, with excellent feedback from the engineers who had nothing but praise for the equipment. It appeared to be very well-manufactured, went in like a dream and commissioned up first time.” The Super Match Multi condensing unit boasts extremely quiet operation, while the maximum pipe run for this unit is longer than most at 100m, allowing for easier installation. Mr Boshier added: “The condensing unit has a cover on the front that lifts to show the CU load.” www.pureairdistribution.co.uk

Makita

Makita’s DTD155 18v Brushless Impact Driver runs up to 3,000rpm in high mode, delivers 3,900 impacts per minute, and generates 140Nm maximum tightening torque. At 1.4kg, this impact driver will drive home a high strength M12 bolt, a M14 standard bolt, M8 machine screw and 90mm coarse thread screw. The DTD155 impact driver features Makita’s Brushless motor technology. This model has low vibration and sound qualities, a 2-speed impact power selection, and LED job light. The DTD155 offers the new Assist-Mode facility. This valuable feature is designed to eliminate ‘screw cam-out’ and ‘cross threading’ before the screw bites into the material. A new 18v LXT 2-piece Brushless kit has also been introduced which includes the existing DTS141 Oil Pulse Driver and the DTD170 Impact Driver. www.makitauk.com

Gripple

Gripple has developed its piping range. Notable improvements are in Gripple’s Universal Clamp range for the suspension of pipe from 15mm copper to 6” steel, replacing over 13 different pipe ring sizes with one product. A new acoustic Universal Clamp has been developed for projects where noise reduction is required. The development of the rubber pad component, alongside replacement of the nylon sleeve with pre-cut rubber tubing, achieves a market-leading 23dBa noise reduction. The new Wall Bracket utilises quick twist attachments and Universal Brackets and comes pre-assembled to a Gripple Universal Bracket as a complete system, enabling pipework to be installed close to a wall or soffit, cantilevered or parallel, using traditional mechanical fixings. www.gripple.com

Gilberts

Gilberts has provided Tata Technologies’ new £20m building with effective ventilation. The building will house Tata Technologies’ engineering services. Internal airflow is controlled via Gilberts’ linear slot diffusers and extract valves, and integrated into the façade are Gilberts’ external louvres. Gilberts’ GSL slot diffusers were used in meeting rooms and offices, while GX extract valves provide air changes in more open spaces. All duct back towards the WGF38 façade louvres. 135 GSL linear slot diffusers have been installed in lengths up to 2m, delivering smooth, accurate air distribution via a discreet directional control vane. 45 GX extract valves deliver efficient removal of stale air at up to 200l/s, whilst limiting associated noise to below 40dB(A). Used air is transferred to ceiling voids, where it is channelled towards the WGF38 façade louvres. www.gilbertsblackpool.com
