0Product news The latest products from: Condair

Condair has opened its production, logistics and sales facility in Hamburg, Germany. The German Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV) 2014 and a maximum heat demand of ≤35 kWh/(m²a) were the minimum standards for the 13,000m² building, which has performed 50% better than the target standard. Geothermal power is harnessed through two 28m energy piles, and roof-mounted photovoltaic panels generate nearly all required electrical energy. A hybrid ceiling system provides cooling and heating. Maintaining a healthy indoor climate of 40- 60% relative humidity at 22-26°C was key. Humidity control is primarily delivered using a Condair GS, gas-fired steam humidification system. A Condair ME evaporative humidifier provides indirect evaporative cooling. Internal conditions are shown on a digital wall display, which also shows the conditions at Condair’s 16 other international offices. www.condair.co.uk

Mitsubishi Electric

Coolair has installed the latest wall-mounted system in its Cheshire offices, choosing Mitsubishi Electric’s new M Series MSZ-LN R32 air conditioning. The M-Series MSZ-LN split system is the first in Mitsubishi Electric’s UK line-up to use R32 refrigerant which has a low GWP of 675 – less than one third of the most popular refrigerant, R410A. Following recent changes in legislation, R32 is expected to become the standard for split type air conditioning systems. R32 will play a huge role in helping to reduce the environmental impact from air conditioning systems, heat pumps and refrigeration. It’s also easier to reuse and recycle. The new M-Series models have a built-in WiFi interface which enables full control via the company’s MELCloud App. The 3D i-see sensor within the unit automatically monitors room occupancy, position and body temperatures to deliver customised comfort. www.timeforR32.co.uk/pr225

Pure Air Distribution

Men Rock has opted for modern air conditioning equipment in its Surrey offices, choosing a Haier Super Match Classic Power outdoor unit connected to a Haier Brezza wall-mounted indoor unit. The unit was supplied and installed by Trace Air Conditioning. Trace Air Conditioning managing director, Debbie Greenhill, said: “We wanted to offer something stylish. Also, we knew that it was easier to install and maintain than similar equipment from other manufacturers. For example, the filters are more accessible.” The indoor unit was mounted in a central location, offering long-distance air flow of over 12 metres. The Brezza unit has the Haier ‘Intelligent Air’ feature, so air flow adjusts upwards in cooling mode or downwards in heating mode, distributing the air evenly. Ms Greenhill added: “The staff has remarked how quiet it is and love the LED temperature display on the wall-mounted unit.” www.pureairdistribution.co.uk

Condair utilises the latest technology at its new Hamburg facility; Lochinvar introduces its smart boiler controller; Mitsubishi Electric reduces environmental impact with R32 air conditioning; Gilberts enhances its slot diffuser selection; Pure Air Distribution’s Haier range is chosen for an office upgrade; Vokèra launches a new condensing boiler

Lochinvar

Lochinvar has launched a ‘smart’ app-based controller for its Herald range of gas-fired condensing boilers. The Con-X-us system lets users connect their smart devices to the on-board boiler controls so they can remotely monitor and adjust the system. Con-X-us is an ancillary option, which can be fitted to the boiler before despatch or retrofitted on site. The app is free to download and suitable for iPhone or Android devices. There are no ongoing costs and it provides full control over the boiler with email or text alerts keeping users updated. Operation of the device is via touch screen technology or by typing in information to remotely adjust set points and many other functions. It can also be adjusted to allow temporary access to other users for maintenance or after sales support. Con-X-us uses colour-coded status alerts. It describes any potential problem and offers a solution. www.lochinvar.ltd.uk

Gilberts

Building services can easily align with current interior design fashions with a new option in ventilation. Reflecting a trending design for ceilings in commercial buildings, Gilberts has refined its standard, linear and high capacity slot diffuser border options to enable plasterwork to run right up to the vents cut out in the ceiling. This maintains the aesthetic without a visible chamfer or flanged edge. The new plaster border option features an elongated external flange, which is screw-fixed into the ceiling, and then simply plaster-skimmed over. Gilberts’ aluminium slot diffusers deliver smooth and accurate air distribution through a discreet directional control vane. A choice of slot numbers and widths in each unit enables precise tailoring to project- specific requirements. Units can be supplied up to 2m in length, and joined to achieve longer runs. www.gilbertsblackpool.com

Vokèra

Vokèra has launched a new high-power condensing system boiler, the Verve i50. With an output of 50kW, this heat-only boiler features similar characteristics to a domestic appliance and is one of the most efficient boilers available. Alister Maclachlan, product director at Vokèra commented: “Our new Verve i50 not only delivers on ever important energy efficiency but is also manufactured with installers at the forefront of the design process ensuring installation is as simple as possible.” Key features include a built-in expansion vessel, an integral pump and a ‘Cuprinox’ bimetallic heat exchanger, and an optional hydraulic separator. It operates on a standard domestic gas supply, therefore reducing installation preparation. The Verve i50 also delivers on ease of servicing, with an isolating valve kit supplied. Lastly, it offers a combustion analysis test point for easy maintenance. www.vokera.co.uk
