Domus Ventilation provides practical advice on residential ventilation at Specifi

H

aving provided ventilation solutions for over 35 years, Domus Ventilation will be sharing its extensive knowledge with visitors to select Specifi Mechanical Services events this year, enabling them to implement effective ventilation solutions for their projects.

Starting on the 28th May in Nottingham, Domus Ventilation will also be attending Specifi events in Glasgow on 10th June and Newcastle on 17th September. Domus Ventilation personnel who specialise in supporting specification will be on the stand, ready to impart knowledge on the latest, cost- effective ventilation solutions available for residential and light commercial applications that enable compliance with Building Regulations Part F (ventilation).

These solutions, predominantly designed for the new build market, include whole house ventilation in the form of HRXE Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) and CMX Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MEV) systems, alongside mechanical fans, Domus ducting systems and an extensive array of accessories. The latter includes the award winning non-combustible Solis Air Brick™ that enables compliance with the revised Building Regulations Fire Safety Approved Document B, and the NOX-FILT filter which prevents up to 99.5% of NO² pollution from entering a home. Visitors will also be encouraged to sign up to one of Domus Ventilation’s CIBSE CPD accredited courses on residential ventilation, which have proven very popular amongst specifiers.

s part of its commitment to developing environmentally friendly technologies and products, and in response to Europe’s growing demand for low-carbon climate solutions, MHIAE has introduced the Hydrolution EZY range of A2W heat pumps.

Designed to deliver heating, cooling, and hot water for residential properties, the Hydrolution EZY is available in two models,10kW and 14kW, providing a low-carbon, easy-to-install alternative to conventional fossil fuel boilers.

The Hydrolution EZY series integrates cutting-edge technologies along with R32 refrigerant to significantly boost efficiency and reduce carbon emissions when compared to boilers. To simplify installation the new series features an integrated water heat exchanger in the outdoor unit, eliminating the need for refrigerant piping.

MHIAE’s Hydrolution EZY features improved anti-vibration technology, which reduces sound power levels effectively, including noise to 60dB (A) in the 10kW class model, even when running at full capacity. The addition of a quiet mode further reduces operational noise and ensures compliance with various noise regulations, particularly important in densely populated residential areas.

Hydrolution EZY units also work effectively in a wide range of outside temperatures, from -25˚C to 43˚C, and can deliver 60˚C hot water even when the outside temperature is -25˚C, making them a great replacement for combustion-type boilers in cold regions and reducing carbon emissions significantly.

Chilled water reimagined – Adveco CWT

A

dveco completes the reimagining of its chilled water vessel offering with CWT. Following the introduction of the premium Chilled Water System (CWS) tanks, it now re-releases its Chilled Water Tank (CWT) range with a complete redesign intended to serve a wider range of central heating and chiller applications requiring expanded total system volume and increased thermal inertia.

This range of carbon steel primary system vessels – available in 300-5,000 litre capacities – is a key element for maintaining comfortable temperatures in commercial buildings for occupants. The most common applications are based around chiller plants, fan coil units (FCUs) or air source heat pumps (ASHPs). When used in combination with traditional chillers, the tanks create a buffer, allowing the chiller to operate in longer cycles even during peak demand periods. reduces energy costs and extends chiller lifespan. In buildings with FCUs, the CWT provides the cool water circulated through the FCUs’ heat exchangers, cooling the air in individual rooms or zones. Chilled water tanks can also be integrated with reversible ASHPs.

During cooling periods CWT can be used to store chilled water; during heating seasons they could be used as thermal buffers for hot water generated by the heat pump, although designated tanks for heating and cooling are recommended for commercial-scale applications.

CWT can also be combined with solar thermal systems.

oshiba Carrier UK has launched its new DAISEIKAI™ 10 air conditioner, merging performance and sustainability with sleek aesthetics for superior home comfort. Crafted using 43% recycled plastic components, the DAISEIKAI 10 is pioneering in its use of eco- compatible materials, emphasising Toshiba’s constant drive towards home decarbonisation. It is matched by a robust suite of advanced features to enhance air purification and user convenience while minimising energy consumption.

Motion tracking technology ensures efficient cooling by optimising and directing airflow to occupied areas. A sophisticated Plasma Ionizer removes airborne contaminants like dust, pollen and other allergens, and the Ultra-Pure Filter effectively traps up to 94% of the most harmful ultrafine PM 2.5 particles like smoke, viruses and bacteria. The “self-cleaning” coated coil ensures the unit remains clean and efficient, and an ultra-quiet operating mode helps suppress ambient noise.

The DAISEIKAI 10 features a Smart Sensing control function app, which is WiFi operated and allows users to choose between indirect or direct air flow. The DAISEIKAI 10 also adopts a new “natural” design derived from its material concept, “Go back to the Earth.”

“The DAISEIKAI 10 reflects our dedication to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible for air purification and climate control for UK customers in one elegant, eco-conscious product,” said David Dunn, managing director at Toshiba Carrier UK, Carrier Global Comfort Solutions, Europe.
