Reel & Roll Handling
Packline launches fast lifting Compac C300
Packline Materials Handling has begun production of its new fully motorised roll handling equipment with a fast liſting speed and high liſt for handling rolls of film and foil.
N
ew to Packline Materials Handling, the Compac C300 with its fast speed and high lift height roll handling equipment was designed in response to a customer requirement in the food processing industry, where the rolls are lifted at speed to an increased height to reach a very high loading point on the packaging machine.
Constructed from stainless steel, this roll handling solution is suitable for the food, drinks, and pharmaceutical industries. The extra tall lifter frame of 98 inches (2500mm) enables the rolls to be lifted to the increased height to access the high load point on the processing machinery.
The faster lifting speed is achieved by a modified frame column lead screw, with a wider pitch and faster rotation, lifting the roll at double the speed of a standard lifter. This ensures that the rolls are lifted from floor height to the packaging machine load point in 15 seconds. The vertical spindle attachment has been designed to suit the lifting and rotation of rolls of film and foil which have a core diameter of three inches (76mm).
This lifting solution encompasses a fully powered three inch vertical spindle lifting and rotating attachment.
This attachment is fully motorised and provides powered drives for both the roll gripping and release as well as the roll rotation to and from the vertical to horizontal orientations. These drives are operated via a hand-held ‘pendant’ control which provides precise and easy operation.
The rolls are securely gripped by the core. This mechanism is fitted with a torque limiter so that the clamping rollers do not over or under tighten onto the roll. This feature enables the operator to lift and transport the rolls with complete confidence.
The attachments enhanced design features
include a greater load capacity, improved strength and durability which provides an easy and safe operation. It is entirely suitable for the food industry and other hygienic applications. The lift capacity of this lifting machine is 352- 440lbs (160-200kgs) and is suitable for use in the following industries: O Food O Drinks and beverages O Dairy O Pharmaceutical O Medical O Chemical O FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) O Printing and labelling.
The purpose-designed compact framework, positioning of handlebars and addition of an optional remote-control device provide improved
manoeuvrability and ease of use for the operator.
The small footprint makes this roll handling equipment highly manoeuvrable and a natural choice for today’s narrow production lines and demanding lifting
requirements. All Packline attachments are fully
interchangeable and can be easily fitted or removed
from any model of ‘Compac’ lifting machine that is fitted with the quick release system.
