Slitting & Rewinding

MONDON FOCUSES ON ITS SLITTING AND REWINDING LINE

With 35 years’ experience in winding and converting machines, the French

companyMondonoffers optimum full converting lines

M

ondon Winding & Converting Machines, regularly manufactures several lines

dedicated to slit jumbo roll into small rolls. An automatic change at rewinder offers a large productivity for this machine. An automatic packing machine is linked to this slitter in order to get a complete converting application from unwinding to packaging. Then, packed rolls are conveyed by belt conveyors to the palletising station. Directly installed downstream the

unwinder, the slitting station offers high quality results. Easy to use, the slitting devices can be adjusted at the desired position by the operator, thanks to a numeric system. Downstream the slitting station, Mondon installs its FTW Series winders, achieving high productivity first-class results. This non- stop turret winder supports two shafts, which allow unloading a bobbin in hidden time while rewinding a new one. Automatic change can be performed at full speed or zero speed to get a perpendicular cut. FTW Series Winder combines performance with durability and first-rate technology and

provides customer-specific solutions. FTW Series Winder control is performed thanks to a network application with the upstream processing line. Due to its non-stop process, the winder avoids the transition sequences that could produce bad quality product. The accuracy of the FTW Series turret winder rotation obtained thanks to the performance of its state-of-the-art technology is a key factor to maintain a very constant tension in the product and to deliver the highest quality reels. Then, bobbins are transferred to

motorised conveyors in order to reach the packaging machine, EF Series. This unit wraps a PE film around the bobbin before palletising. A heating unit seals the PE and bobbin is wrapped around; a dedicated knife cuts the tail of wrapping film. A handling device, RP Series, is dedicated

to palletise rolls that have been wrapped. Fully automated, the palletiser allows mounting pallets of wrapped rolls. It records flexible orders, to adjust the pallets. Rolls can be rotated in order to palletise them in horizontal or vertical position. The automated and high-speed slitting and rewinding line produces high quality

rolls. Easy to use and to maintain, the slitting and rewinding line is very interactive with the touchscreen from which the operator just needs to set up the width and the diameter of finished rolls. The systems can be applied for several applications on existing lines by adapting the design to the product as films, papers, laminates or nonwovens. They are available in different width from 500mm to 2,500mm, with optional devices. Mondon Winding and Converting

Machines is a French company, based in Lyon, that designs, manufactures and markets machines designed for winding, unwinding and processing flexible materials. Eager to ensure efficiency and precision, the company can boast in-house design offices to design simple or fully automated machines strictly adhering to customer specifications. www.mondon.com
