Increased speed, durability and efficiency with the new Afinia x350


Tony Mariani, managing director at AM Labels explains how the new Afinia x350 digital roll-to-roll press can significantly improve and enhance in-house labelling operations.


he brand new, soon-to-be-launched Afinia x350 is a digital roll-to-roll press that is designed for labels and flexible packaging. Thanks to its 13 inch (350 mm) print width, large eight litre CMYK ink capacity with two litres per colour channel, and print speeds of up to 18 inches per second (460 mm per second), the x350 can print large runs of labels or flexible packaging quickly and efficiently.

The roll-to-roll press utilises environmentally friendly, water-based pigment inks that are free from harmful chemicals, in addition to being more durable than traditional inkjet formulations. As a result, the x350 creates print results that offer excellent resistance to moisture, UV and abrasion, depending on the material used. Furthermore, the press utilises innovative Memjet DuraFlex technology, enabling it to provide full-colour prints with highly consistent quality.


The Afinia x350 is an ideal solution for businesses with high volume labelling and packaging requirements that are looking to increase efficiency, speed, quality and flexibility within their operations. The press supports companies in achieving vibrant and professional results on die-cut or continuous label materials, as well as flexible packaging films, while also offering fast and consistent print results. The x350 offers a wider roll width of 350 mm, as well as a larger roll diameter of 350 mm, providing up to 500 metres of label stock on a roll or up to 1,000 metres of flexible packaging. Furthermore, the press is ideal for a wide variety of roll-to-roll labelling and packaging requirements, including for use in the food, beverage and chemical industries. Offering user friendly operation, the x350 features an integrated PC with an intuitive 21 inch touchscreen interface. The x350, designed for high-volume requirements, also benefits from a compact footprint and an extremely powerful performance. At last year’s PPMA Show in September 2022, AM Labels was the first reseller in the


UK to have the opportunity to debut the Afinia x350 digital roll- to-roll press. The innovative new press was incredibly popular on our stand and we predict, that once launched, this full-colour, A3 wide model will provide new opportunities for businesses looking to expand their in- house production offering, while benefitting from a highly cost effective initial purchase price. At AM Labels, we will also be displaying the Afinia x350 at the opening of our brand new, state-of-the-art Technical Experience Centre, which is taking place from Tuesday 24th January to Thursday 26th January 2023. The occasion will be held at our head office in Kettering, Northamptonshire, and will be sponsored by leading printing technology manufacturer, Epson. Once opened, the Technical Experience Centre will be accessible to all businesses across the UK, where they can experience demonstrations of the latest and most innovative technology, including label printing, barcode scanning and RFID equipment, as well as robotics and automation. Companies will also have the opportunity to speak to our experienced team about the range of software, installation and technical support services that are available.
