NEWS | Events AVA webinars keep vending businesses compliant INDUSTRY CALENDAR

The Automatic Vending Association (AVA) is holding a series of webinars with a view to keeping business owners and managers up to date with the latest information on all the government schemes launched to protect the economy during the pandemic lockdown. On April 7, Russell Smith, Chartered accountant from RS Accountancy, was on hand to help AVA members interpret government schemes including the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (now commonly referred to CBILS); the Business Rates Grant; the Self-employment Grant, tax deferment and the ins and outs of furloughing. On April 21, the AVA hosted a second COVID-19 webinar focusing mainly on the Job Retention Scheme with employment law specialist Sue King of Wrigleys Solicitors. Sue was able to provide background and interpretation on how to implement

the scheme, what restrictions businesses need to be aware of and how to ensure compliance.

The London Coffee Festival, the event for discerning coffee lovers and those working in the coffee scene, had previously been planned for April 2-5, but as a result of the coronavirus lockdown, will now be held from July 23-26, 2020. The event will feature over 250 artisan coffee and gourmet food stalls, tastings and demonstrations from world-class baristas, interactive workshops, street food, coffee-based cocktails, live music, DJs, art exhibitions and so much more. Organisers said: “After a thorough assessment of the current international coronavirus situation in the UK and globally, and in the interest of the safety of all our visitors, we have made the difficult decision to postpone The London Coffee Festival 2020 to the new dates of July 23-26. “All tickets and workshops booked will be automatically transferred to the new dates; with
