Of course, with that will come a demand for both cold and hot food options – and it’s vital that suppliers consider introducing more plant-based and vegan options when filling up on-site vending machines.

last May revealed 1 in 4 Brits had reduced the amount of animal products they were consuming since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. While 1 in 5 (20%) people said they had reduced the amount of meat they were eating, 12% said they’d minimised their eggs and dairy intake. “At the same time, the Veganuary
campaign, in which participants are encouraged to eat vegan for the whole month of January, hit record highs this year with over 629,000 people signing-up from 228 countries and territories. From this we can assume that there’s now going to be a significant number of people looking for nutritious and delicious vegan options during their 9-5 day. “And it’s not just those sitting at a
computer or at a desk either as a 2020 survey of NHS staff that revealed 78% of employees would choose to eat a hot vegan meal if it was available - indicating a significant demand for plant-based food amongst frontline staff. “While having cold snacks such as
crisps, dried fruit or chocolate available in vending machines is great, there’s no question that vegan workers want to enjoy delicious hot meals throughout the day too. Things like soups, pasta dishes,
