creating high quality, well designed, domestic electrical products, so the company is delighted that two of its newest products have been shortlisted in this year’s Innovative Electrical Retailing (IER) awards. The Intellisteam food steamer is shortlisted


in the Technical Innovation SDA category. This innovative steamer was added to Morphy Richards’ suite of food preparation appliances with the aim of simplifying steam cooking. Featuring three separate compartments and


an intelligent timer to synchronize the steaming process of separate ingredients, the Intellisteam delivers a complete healthy meal in one pot, with all ingredients ready at the same time. The clever horizontal design and features mean there is no contamination of flavours when cooking, and all compartments are accessible - unlike a traditional tiered steamer – and a strong glass lid ensures the heat is retained. Pre-programmed with eight settings for


different food groups, the Intellisteam can also be re-programmed by the user, depending on


their preferences and cooking habits. A handy keep-warm function means the ingredients are maintained at their best, regardless of interruptions. A bright and easy-use digital display represents the three individual steaming compartments and enables the user to easily set and see the remaining cooking time in each individual compartment. The Intellisteam is both safe and user friendly,


featuring external water top up which allows the user to add additional water without disturbing the meal’s cooking progress. As a safety measure there is also a boil-dry alarm to alert the cook to low water levels, and a safety cut-out, just in case. The Intellisteam includes dishwasher safe parts and all accessories are made from BPA-free plastic. And, despite its impressive technical capabilities, it is compact and easy to store, with all accessories fitting within the bowl and a plug and cord store provided underneath. The Morphy Richards 12-in-1 Steam cleaner is


shortlisted in the Best Floorcare product category and has won rave reviews since it was launched. The 1600 watt appliance allows users to give their floors and a host of other surfaces a really deep clean, with the added benefit that it kills 99.9% of bacteria around the home. At first glance it looks like a traditional steam mop, but it has a pull-out hand-held unit, so it can be quickly swapped from being used upright to getting up-close and personal with stains that are not on the floor.


When used in upright mode there is a handy


carpet glider attachment to change between hard floors and carpets. But at the push of a button the 12-in-1 converts to handheld mode to clean a multitude of surfaces, including: worktops, tiles, ovens, BBQs, windows, shower doors, grout, taps, sinks and much more. The water tank is significantly larger than some competitor models and is easily detachable, plus the 1600 watt power rating means heat-up time is just 30 seconds and it offers a decent 11 minute running time. The steam output is controlled with an easy trigger mechanism. The 12-in-1 has a long reach 5m cable which is easy to tidy away in the included cable storage.
