New for Winter 2022/23 are PIR detectors with a sleeker fl at lens design. Highly specifi ed, they are easy to install and set up with controls neatly concealed by a clip-on cover. (PDFM/PDRS 1500)
As soon as this extra presence sensitivity technology became commercially aff ordable, Timeguard was again quick off the mark to add it to our products and likewise, you were quick to help us make them market leaders. Naturally the market followed our lead, but what will continue to diff erentiate Timeguard engineering is a combination of good aesthetic design, the ease with which detection fi elds can be set up and adjusted and, of course, the proven quality assurance that gives installers confi dence to use these devices to control larger installations – and now as much as 600W LED lighting per PIR switch.
New for this season are surface and fl ush mount
‘fl at-lens’ models, especially easy on the eye and in any case, hardly noticeable once fi tted. Yet they pack a punch: rated for 600W LED or a 250W fan.
Absence
Another extra you can off er right now from Timeguard is ‘absence detection’. Even better, with Timeguard you can off er it alongside presence detection in the same device. As I said earlier, we aim to make it easier to stock, and easier
devices to choose from, it becomes easy for end users to control consumption, and controlling consumption saves energy and saves money. After all, who doesn’t want to save money!! So, making sure we don’t light and heat empty spaces is surely a challenge all of us are focussed on this winter.
to sell out.
Absence detection is ‘semi-automated’. People switch the light on manually at the wall switch and then, as with presence detection, the lights turn off automatically when the area is vacated. So, for instance, lights in classrooms, in meeting rooms or break out areas in open plan spaces won’t switch on just because someone walked by, or popped in just to pick something up from the desk. All this helps contractors to design a really
fl exible set up to match the changing ways people occupy and use their premises. Our ‘all-in- one’ models - presence detectors with absence detection - will control up to 600W LED lighting or a 250W fan.
When installers can rely on powerful PIR detectors to control multiple lights or HVAC equipment, with single and dual channel
Your PIR checklist: Easy set up and reconfi guration should rank high on your list. Time is money for your customers! Ratings everyone can trust. Are you confi dent that the PIR detector really is tested and proven for the right LED load, especially if it’s claiming to be able to switch bigger loads or cope with big LED inrush currents.
Good looks are important. Offi ce rents and interior fi t outs aren’t cheap. People won’t appreciate the wiring in of ugly accessories! Functionality: will you need presence or absence detection? Choose the right device for each area of the building.
Will there be a clear ‘view’ of the detection area? If not, off er higher frequency microwave devices that detect through partitions.
Timeguard’s range also off ers presence and absence detection options in a single device with fl ush and surface mount and single and dual channel options (PDSM/FM 361 and 362).
