NICEIC announces Spring 2025 series of The Wire N


ICEIC has announced the Spring edition of


its CPD-accredited webinar series The Wire will begin on 8 May. The Wire is a free resource


for NICEIC-certifi ed businesses designed to keep listeners on top of industry developments, hone technical knowledge, and help businesses stay ahead. The last series of The Wire delivered fi ve hours of CPD to 16,059 total viewers. The new series will feature fi ve episodes on timely and important issues, including: • Questions from the NICEIC technical helpline (8 May 2025) • BS 5839-1:2025: fi re systems update (22 May 2025) • Heat pump fundamentals and considerations (12 June 2025) • Solar PV update (19 June 2025) • Myth busters: NICEIC edition (10 July 2025) NICEIC technical director Paul Collins commented: “With the launch of our

Ovia appoints Sarah Rose as ASM

North East Regions. Bringing an impressive 26-year career in the lighting industry to her new role, Sarah will be responsible for promoting and selling Ovia’s vast range of lighting solutions through electrical wholesalers across her region. She will also focus on nurturing and developing both new and existing relationships with wholesalers to ensure the continued growth and success of the brand. Sarah’s expertise spans multiple


markets, including electrical wholesalers, retail, OEM, and niche applications such as stage and studio lighting. Sarah’s experience and strong industry knowledge will be invaluable in her new position, where she will continue to build Ovia’s reputation and deliver exceptional service to customers across her region.

 According to data from Unleashed, manufacturers in the electrical industry saw sales and purchasing both taking a hit last year, with small and mid-sized fi rms seeing their average sales revenue drop by more than a third in the fi nal quarter of 2024, from nearly £221,000 to just over £142,000.


 Faulty equipment or tools has been named as the most common cause of injuries suff ered by tradespeople while on the job according to a new study by Markel Direct. 44% of tradespeople reported that “faulty equipment or tools” was the


industry with a strong background in sales and management roles. Toby will have responsibility for the Northern Region of the country, with an MSc in Business Leadership and Management and with six years’ experience in the electrical industry. Finally, Roscoe Hale joins the business as the

Both Roscoe and Jake will work closely with internal teams to maintain a strong sales pipeline, promote the Click range, and deliver an excellent experience to customers across their respective regions.
