New Eurovent PG-CT chairman and vice-chairman T
he Eurovent Product Group ‘Evaporative Cooling Equipment’ (PG-CT) has elected Laurent Petiot as chairman and Ulf Bergmann as vice-chairman of the group.
Laurent Petiot, general manager France Benelux Maghreb at Baltimore Aircoil Company, was elected as the new chairman of the product group during its meeting late last year in Antalya at the Eurovent Summit. He has extensive experience in Eurovent and has been involved in heat transfer equipment within the cooling tower industry for more than 30 years. Laurent will be supported by the newly elected vice-chairman of the product group, Ulf Bergmann, general manager sales and marketing at GOHL-KTK.
The new chairman, Laurent Petiot, stated: “With the advent of new technological systems, we have noticed that our world is changing with a mix of sustainability and an increasing demand, which defi nitely leads to a strong commitment, innovation and demonstration of the high contribution that evaporative cooling can off er to the world. Eurovent is the ideal platform and association to gather the skills of the cooling tower industry. The contribution of the members, gathered in a single point, will continue to off er the best of the profession.”

company’s fi rst renewables hub at its Glastonbury branch.
orld-leading lighting company Signify, lighting, has appointed Nico van der Merwe as chief executive offi cer for Signify UK and Ireland, starting 1 February 2023. Nico joins Signify from Schneider Electric, where he spent 15 years in various roles, most recently as vice president for home and distribution UK and Ireland. Nico has two decades of experience in international business and leading strategic business transformations. Throughout his international career, Nico has demonstrated a track record of developing and implementing new business models and delivering sustainable results.

Based in Guildford, Nico will report to Maria Letizia Mariani, CCO of Signify.
The new hub provides a range of solar panels, mounting kits, grid hybrid inverters, battery storage solutions and accessories from leading brands, including Solax and K2 Systems, that are suitable for installation on domestic and commercial properties. A renewables specialist is available to assist customers with designing solutions and provide product training. In addition to increasing the size of the branch by installing the hub, Devondale’s Glastonbury depot has established a new trade counter, employed additional staff members, and invested in a vehicle to deliver its renewables product range to customers throughout the South West.
The branch is also holding a fun darts competition once a month, giving customers the chance to win prizes, and will be introducing ‘Pie Friday’. These types of events allow the Glastonbury team to interact with customers and build relationships. Devondale is part of the Independent Builders Merchant Group, which includes Grant & Stone and RGB Building Supplies. The renewables hub is based at Devondale’s Glastonbury branch, which is located on Adlam Central Park.
