We’re so excited to mark our 40th anniversary with as many industry professionals as possible. We’re also delighted that CIE’s launch editor, Nick Foot, will be joining us to mark the milestone. Nick, now PR director at BWW Communications, launched CIE in 1984. Nick says: “So, CIE turns 40 in 2024. Wow – as the launch editor that makes me feel very old…but also very honoured and privileged to have worked in this industry. For without ‘electronics’ we would not have EVs, and the IoT could not exist. Alexa would remain science fiction, we’d still be tied to landlines and clouds would only spoil a day at the cricket, not store all our data.
Components in Electronics
Nick Foot, PR director at BWW Communications, launched CIE in 1984.
“I’m proud to have had a very small role in the electronics scene in the UK and wider, and I congratulate CIE for its longevity, and its continuing service. CIE has had a couple of owners since I was the editor, but it’s been a key part of the Datateam media portfolio for some years now, and I’m pleased to see
the title prosper and even spawn its own event. Electronics Live, which happens on January 17th 2024 at the NCC, Birmingham, promises to be a vibrant event – I’ll see you there. Cheers!”
