Momentive Silicones have been in space for >400,00 days Momentive sets the standard of excellence in aerospace and aviation silicone technologies, their legacy RTV and FRV adhesive systems have supported countless applications for thousands of flight hours - RTV630 was used to manufacture Neil Armstrong’s boot when he walked on the moon and Momentive RTV was used as the window sealant on the Apollo mission re-entry crafts. RTV560 & 566 has >40 years in-flight service heritage and 6 lunar landings have used Momentive silicone materials.
RTV60 is tested and very stable against Skydrol fluid and there are 13 Momentive materials specified on the Airbus A220.

They remain flexible in extremely low temperatures and are thermally insulative. Meeting or exceeding ASTM E595 testing standards established by NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) opens up a world of possibilities for these advanced silicone technologies.
