we were one of the biggest stockists in the UK around 20 years ago when the shop first opened. Historically known and bought to market as “the shoe that breathes”, Geox’s main offering is good quality trainers and school shoes – which our customers love.
Q: What is your favourite ladies’ or men’s brand right now and why? A: We stock around 10 different brands for ladies and all our brands are chosen for their sensational comfort. One brand which has stood out is Art; their funky styles and excellent comfort have been doing extremely well in our shop!
Q: How important is shoe fitting to your business? A: It is critical to our business as we prioritise the foot health of children over anything else. We get recommendations from local GPs to get fitted in our store to correct issues such as flat feet and rolling in. Our TT Kids brand was also developed and designed with a priority to supply excellent quality children’s footwear for growing feet.
Q: What’s selling well right now? What are your best-selling footwear brands and why? A: We sell around 25 different brands in our shop covering children’s and ladies’ but obviously our customers do have their favourites. Our best-selling three brands are TT Kids, Superfit and Geox. TT Kids is our own brand with shoes designed
by our very experienced shoe fitters to ensure they are easy to fit and supportive of growing feet. There are lots of different styles to cover a variety of foot shapes and sizes and the quality is extremely high. We find that customers come in just to be
fitted with a pair of TT Kids shoes after having had them before because the shoes last well
and children are happy and comfortable wearing them every day. We have had lots of fantastic customer
feedback; one customer said recently: “Our TT Kids boots have been fantastic for our daughter and we would recommend purchasing these again next season.” TT Kids has also been nominated as a finalist in the Drapers Footwear Awards 2024 under two categories – Best New Brand and Team of the Year!
In addition, we have been stocking Superfit
shoes for around 15 years and customers love them too. They are lightweight, hardwearing and they offer lots of Gortex options for the Winter. Geox is also a great addition to our collection;
Q: Do you sell other items besides footwear, such as bags, socks or other accessories? A: Yes, we sell shoe cleaning accessories as well as ladies’ bags, scarves, gloves, hats and socks. We also sell socks and tights for children as well as Slip Free swimwear and footwear for children to wear on the beach or by the pool.
Q: How do you select the different styles for your store? How do you know what your customers are looking for? A: We choose our products based on fitting, comfort and design. Our customers come to our us for good quality affordable footwear which is different than what’s offered by the high street chains. When taking on any new brand, we always start small so we can get to know the fit and test the quality, then, if we are satisfied, we increase and grow the brand.
Q: Which footwear trade shows do you attend? A: As we are a retailer and a brand we attend exhibitions from both sides, to order for our shop and to exhibit as a brand. So we attend the INDX Footwear shows as well as the Footwear Today Live show for our TT Kids brand, but also catch up with some of our suppliers there to order for our shop at the same time. We also share stockrooms with other brands where we present our full TT Kids collection.
