INTERVIEW Modular Commerce Original Creator
Caroline Sheppard: Modular Commerce is providing the footwear and apparel industry with all the benefits of trading online, but without all the hassle. Footwear industry veterans, Matt Walsh and James Radford, set up the company two-and-a-half years ago with a mission to bring the full benefits of online trading to independent retailers and brands. We have combined our experience and knowledge of the marketplace, with best practice in website development and administration, to provide a full- service e-commerce solution that we call Concierge.
In addition, we have recently acquired the Footwear4You website, which is now giving us further insights into best practice on how to trade on a pure footwear website.
Not only that but we are increasing the sales on our lead brand, Mephisto, and we have improved delivery times for our customers. We have also implemented social media, improved our customer service and added new payment methods!
Caroline Sheppard: In addition to footwear, I now represent an ath-leisure brand called Original Creator. It’s an easy-going, positive brand on a mission to make people feel good! Its philosophy is easy: Simplify, Motivate, Inspire.
Original Creator is founded on the belief that we are all masters on our own destiny. The brand proudly has over 25 years’ experience in textiles and manufacturing. Its deep origins from the industrial mills of Manchester have enabled us to create quality, timeless and practical pieces designed to be worn time and time again. The ranges consist of hoodies, sweatshirts, joggers, t-shirts, shirts, polos and jackets. We have just launched our women’s collection and have added leggings and cycling shorts in addition to the above.

In women’s we have four collections: Women Original, Athletic, Active and Synchronicity. In men’s we have seven collections: Original 2.0, Essential Track, New Heritage, The Art of Doing Not Doing, Casual Heritage, Off The Grid, and Track 2.0. Original Creator garments are made of cotton; a great raw material for active people, but it doesn’t protect you from rainy days and thunderstorms! So we’ve added a special coating on top of the fabric to help delay the absorption of water – to keep you fly and dry!
