know it’s been a tough time for many footwear retailers this Spring, one of the coldest on record with heavy snowfalls in March


as far south as Kent. Only to be followed by seemingly endless rain.... good for the sale of Wellington boots, but few people want to buy sandals until the weather warms up!


April, May however, brought glorious sunshine and temperatures


into the mid 20’s, more like July, so hopefully business is improving? Also, your customers’ summer holidays are coming up fast, so you will need to have your answers ready for what they need for some practical, but fashionable, holiday kit page 28.


In this issue, we select some this summer’s hottest holiday styles


for customers that will take them comfortably from the beach to the nightclub! While, our popular Editor’s Choice pages this month feature simply ‘The Best’ Men’s Footwear from the major autumn/winter shoe trade shows in February and March. Enjoy! Next Month it’s Ladies Fashion Shoes.

footwear retailers, please do get in touch. We would need to know your five best sellers overall, for Ladies, Men’s and Children’s. Also, by categories, i.e. Ladies Comfort/Casuals, Fashion/Contemporary footwear, Formal footwear, boots or sandals depending on the season. Similarly, for Men’s, while for Children’s, it’s Pre-Walkers, Walkers and School Shoes.
