Kindly tell us about your shop, its location and your customers? B Stean, 24 Melbourne Parade, Chelmsford CM1 2DW. Established 1952 by my late parents.
What made you decide to buy this brand? It was a decision made twenty years ago, which has not been regretted.
How did you find out about the brand, where and when? It was on recommendation from a competitor’s rep twenty years ago.
Which features of the brand do you like best and why? Great margin, quality that is second to none with high spec leathers and components, good value for the customer, good fit with half size option in most products, first class service with fast instock deliveries which are often next day, carriage free on minimum 6 pairs.
Which styles have worked best for you? Broad fittings such as Poem and other styles from the Padders Plus range with touch fastenings – Revive, Caitlin. Many offer dual fitting, wonderful for accommodation orthotics. Summer sandals: Heatwave, Graceful, Gemstone. An amazing slipper range that is popular throughout the year.
Is the brand one of your best-sellers? Where does it stand price-wise? Yes, it is a best seller. It is mid price.
Please tell us about the service you receive from the manufacturer? If we, or a customer, experiences a particular problem, a quick phone call to Kettering and the issue is resolved swiftly and efficiently, with their honesty and helpful service.
