BRAND PROFILE

What’s the story behind the brand? Slipfree® shoes were designed by a husband and wife from Turkey who realised whilst at a swimming pool party, there was nothing on the market that their children could wear that they could swim in that would also stop them slipping around the pool and protect their feet from burning on the hot floors. With prior textile experience, they set to work developing the product and launched the brand in Turkey in 2014. The brand has quickly become a global success selling millions in over 25 countries. Since launch, adults’ shoes, matching swimwear and a Disney licensed collection have been added to the range. The brand was launched in the UK in November 2017.

What sets this brand apart from the rest? This is a truly unique & clever product that is focussed primarily on children’s safety; preventing slips & falls on wet and dry surfaces and protecting feet from hot floors and sharp objects. And not to mention protection from unwanted infections. Different to traditional beach or pool shoes, they are made from a light,

flexible, quick-drying and breathable fabric and are the next best thing to bare feet but with the added protection of a firm grip sole. They are super comfortable, easy to swim in and can be used almost

anywhere – use them all year-round at the swimming pool, at exercise classes, and at home on slippy floors, in the bathroom and garden and of course on holidays. Finally, all these benefits come in such fun & colourful designs that kids (and adults) love to wear.

Does this brand offer a good profit margin for retailers? Absolutely! With an RRP of only £14.95 (trade price £7.50) for children’s and £18.95 (trade price £8.00) for adults, Slipfree® offers the retailer the chance to make an exciting additional sale at the till with a unique and exciting product. Eye-catching and compact merchandising units help support this for retailers.

How is the brand marketed? Do you use social media? As a new and exciting brand, we understand the need to be seen and as social media is so widely used these days, it is a huge part of our journey to spreading the word about Slipfree®. We also work with influencers and bloggers to help widen the reach to their followers. And a strong focus on online & print PR and advertising. However, some of our favourite marketing is achieved through word of

mouth. Slipfree® is a product people love and when you love something you want to share it, so many customers tell us they were recommended Slipfree® by another fan!

Any famous customers? To us all our customers are famous, they can all be ‘papped’ wearing their Slipfree®s in the many places they were designed for and we love to see those photos and feature our customers on social media rocking whichever fun and colourful design they chose.
