INDUSTRY UPDATE

The new IE5+ motor generation from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS offers a high power density and ensures further improvements in terms of reduction of variants and energy efficiency

NORD DRIVESYSTEMS with new products at FMB 2020 F

rom 4 to 6 November 2020, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will exhibit at FMB in Bad Salzuflen. As "The Supplier Show for Mechanical Engineering", FMB, addresses the entire

spectrum of machinery and plant engineering, where modern drive concepts are among the most important technology components. The trade fair presentation focuses on the energy-efficient IE5+ synchronous motor, the NORDAC PRO SK 500P control cabinet inverter, the NORDCON APP – a mobile commissioning and maintenance solution – as well as on high-quality surface treatment.

The new NORD IE5+ motor generation has considerably lower losses than the current

IE4 series. The energy-efficient permanent magnet synchronous motors offer a constant high efficiency that, at times, is significantly above efficiency class IE5, over the entire adjustment range. The compact IE5+ motor offers a high power density with less installation space and is initially supplied in a size for power ranges from 0.35 to 1.1 kW with a continuous torque from 1.6 to 4.8 Nm and speeds from 0 to 2,100 min-1. In combination with a NORDAC LINK frequency inverter (up to 7.5 kW), high-efficiency drive systems are formed.

Optimum performance in the control cabinet NORDAC PRO SK 500P is the new inverter generation for control cabinets. The series covers rated motor powers from 0.25 to 5.5 kW and is equipped with an integrated universal Ethernet interface that enables the use of the major real-time Ethernet standards via one single interface. Various inverter versions can be optimally allocated to various application requirements. Plug-in control, safety and option modules ensure maximum flexibility and the compact book-size design format enables space-saving installation.

Service via app for mobile use The NORDCON APP and the NORDAC ACCESS BT Bluetooth stick for all NORD electronic components are used for drive monitoring via a dashboard, drive analysis via a convenient oscilloscope function and drive parameterisation of NORD drive systems. The dashboard-based visualisation can be used for drive monitoring and fault diagnosis. With a help function and rapid access to parameters, parameterisation of drive units is simple and easy. In stand-alone operation, the NORDAC ACCESS BT can also be used for backup and recovery of drive parameters. The NORDCON APP and the NORDAC ACCESS BT are available for all central and decentral NORD drive electronics.

nsd tupH – An alternative to stainless steel The nsd tupH surface treatment from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS forms a protective layer that is permanently bonded to the substrate material. In contrast to painting or coating, nothing can detach or flake off. Damage remains locally restricted and does not spread. It is even possible to use high-pressure cleaners or an extensive variety of aggressive media. Thus, nsd tupH drive units are an efficient alternative to painted geared motors or stainless steel versions. In contrast to stainless steel drives offered in only few variants, the nsd tupH surface treatment is feasible for almost all NORD aluminium products (gear units, smooth motors, drive electronics).
