To be able to respond to changing situations, such as varying part shapes, with similar flexibility, robots require reliable information on the environment, and in a format that they understand. The VISOR® Robotic from SensoPart converts data and supplies all information in robot coordinates for immediate use by the robot systems. This is achieved through one-time calibration using the calibration plates available as accessories, or with the aid of a point-pair list. The task is also facilitated by additional functions, such as Z offset correction, gripper point adjustment and a check of available space around the gripper arm. Complex programming in the robot control system is no longer necessary.

he material handling and packaging industries depend upon the quick and efficient transportation of materials. Automated robotic handling systems, incorporating
roller conveyors, are providing efficient and scalable solutions as businesses embrace process optimisation as a means to better manage distribution challenges and consumer demand and are being widely deployed within manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and distribution hubs. Pallet conveyor systems carry goods throughout the

A Sting in the Tail! T
he 3D Stinger camera from Scorpion Vision provides high quality 3D imaging systems to production lines
across a wide range of UK manufacturing sectors. Thanks to the advanced technology developed by
Tordivel of Oslo, Scorpion Vision's 3D Stinger camera enables production-line robots to see with precise vision, distinguishing the exact height, depth and sizes of products on a manufacturing line, and then send information to the robot to adjust where the picking arm goes accordingly. Stinger processes images in real-time as the camera is
not required to scan whole areas at a time in order to detect products moving along the production line. The total cycle time is therefore only dictated by how fast the robot can pick. Additionally, the system's real-time capabilities mean that the camera is able to detect if something moves into the field of view and send new
picking co-ordinates to the robot, avoiding any unexpected malfunctions due to foreign items in the robot's path. The system is extremely versatile as the internal scripting and interface modules of the 3D Stinger mean that Scorpion Vision Software can be interfaced to any robot type, such as ABB, Staubli, Kuka, Mitsubishi and Bosch, ideal for applications across a variety of manufacturing sectors including food, automotive and heavy industry.
Flexible 3D Solution The Scorpion 3D Stinger product portfolio consists of 3D cameras most commonly in a stereoscopic configuration.
