SICK UK confirmed as headline sponsor of pioneering industrial robocs conference
Future Robocs, the UK’s only dedicated industrial robocs conference, will take place on Tuesday 13 November at The Slate, Warwick University. Its pioneering approach to the topic has captured the aenon of industry, including SICK UK – a company at the forefront of industrial sensor development since 1946 – which has pledged its support as headline sponsor of the event. “Future engineering and manufacturing applicaons for robocs are rapidly being realised into today’s producon environments. At SICK, we are keen to support the promoon of future robocs iniaves and encourage leadership, innovaon and development,” comments Neil Sandhu, product manager for imaging, distance and ranging soluons. The future of manufacturing in the UK is currently up
for debate, making the ming of the conference crucial. Neil connues: “In reality, no one can be sure where UK manufacturing may be in the next 12 to 18 months. It is therefore key that events like Future Robocs are happening.
“UK manufacturing must decide now whether to
invest in roboc automaon technology to remain compeve in the future.” Neil Sandhu will also lead one of the event’s hotly
ancipated CPD accredited seminars. Titled ‘Seeing is believing… Robots with a vision’, the presentaon will explore how technologies are now being ulised as a vital part of robocs soluons within automaon and how advancements in both robocs and machine vision have enabled easier integraon, communicaon and deployment in today’s demanding and evolving environments.
A tabletop exhibion will take place alongside the seminar programme, where some of the industry’s leading companies will display live and interacve models of their innovave and forwardthinking products and soluons. On the SICK UK stand, visitors can expect to see the
PLOC2D and PLB Robot Guidance systems – intuive camerabased parts and binpicking localisaon soluons that can easily handle unstructured materials handling applicaons. Manufacturing experts will also be on hand to discuss individual cases on how to achieve safe robocs soluons that enable ecient human/robot collaboraon. Companies also exhibing include Pilz Automaon
Technology, Universal Robots, ifm, igus, KUKA, Piab, Scorpion Vision UK, SensoPart, Servo Components & Systems Ltd, Shadow Robot Company and SMC. With a wealth of knowledge, interacve experiences and networking opportunies on oer, Future Robocs has solidified itself as a ‘mustaend’ event for anyone involved in UK manufacturing. Tickets cost just £55 +VAT – with prices including lunch and refreshments throughout the day – and are available through a secure online booking form on the Future Robocs website.
