3D robot cell for vehicle headrests and armrests
The quality and finish of the headrests and armrests used on car seats contribute greatly to both the ‘feel-good atmosphere’ and seating comfort for the drivers of passenger cars. This places high demands on the foams used in these components: they must be adaptable and flexible, resistant and durable, but also have a good feel and appearance. For the manufacturers, the emphasis is on high quality and continuous improvement, waste reduction and error minimisation. A new robot cell featuring 3D imaging has been developed to increase the cycle rate and accuracy in the production of these small foam parts
