New FNT 16 neutral disconnect terminal for 2.5 – 25 mm²

disconnect flexible wires without ferrules. The disconnect terminal integrates a receptacle for the 10x3- mm neutral busbar. There is no need for an additional fixing plate. The neutral busbar is securely connected via a screw-less slider. Like FRKI feed-through terminals and FSLI PE terminals, the neutral disconnect terminals can be used alongside FDLIS three-level installation terminals, because the position of the neutral busbar is identical in both versions.

Cost pressures mean the welds must be made as quickly as possible and the need for rapid, trouble-free on-site assembly dictates that distortion and deformation are not acceptable. ESAB was recently approached by a customer with

exactly the requirement outlined above. In this case, a 10 x 470mm web needed flanges to be attached along both edges; the flanges were 15 x 200mm and one needed to be attached at an angle rather than being perpendicular to the web. Clearly some form of semi-automated welding would

improve the situation and it might be thought that the obvious answer would be to use the best technologies available, such as pulse welding that reduces heat input and, therefore minimises distortion. However, ESAB says this is still a relatively time-consuming process that would require two welding operatives.

buy-out of FloForm and manufacturing at its plant in Welshpool, Wales. It’s been a decade since Dawson Shanahan came to the

rescue of FloForm, a manufacturer of automotive parts based in Welshpool, Wales. As a business that had been in decline over a two-year period, the company finally went into administration in 2009 and 80 jobs were sadly lost. Hertfordshire based Dawson Shanahan, took the
