FLOW & LEVEL CONTROL

TRANSFORMING DATA D

ifm electronic now offers an IIoT platform which helps transform data from devices into useful information that helps optimise efficiency

eveloped specifically to be versatile, easy to use and fast to implement,

the new moneo IIoT platform from ifm electronic provides a convenient and cost-effective solution to the challenge of converting the huge amount of data generated by plant and machines into useful information that can be used to reduce downtime, optimise efficiency and cut costs. “IIoT is a hot topic in every

sector of industry,” said Paul Stansfield of ifm electronic, “and there’s wide agreement that it has the potential to give users a real competitive advantage. However, IIoT solutions have a reputation for being costly and difficult to develop. Our moneo system changes all of that by making it easy to implement powerful and scalable IIoT solutions quickly at modest cost. To encourage users to try this for themselves, we’ve not only launched a full range of moneo software and hardware, but also a starter kit, which has everything needed to implement a small moneo system at a very attractive price.” moneo is a modular system which users

can configure to match their individual needs. At its heart is moneo OS, which provides flow modelling and automatic alarm functions,

MULTIPLE MEASURING

The Prosonic Flow G 300/500 flowmeter from Endress+Hauser suits demanding applications in gas measurement, including wet gas. With optional integrated pressure and temperature sensors for optimum process control, the ultrasonic device offers reliable measurement of natural gas, process gas and gas mixtures. Developed to measure both wet and dry

and well as facilities for managing all of the other moneo software modules. These include moneo RTM, which can be used to implement fully customisable user interfaces that allow plant and machine information to be presented in numeric, graphical or dashboard formats. moneo RTM can also be used for analysing and summarising the data collected by the moneo system. Other software modules in the moneo

range include moneo configure, which offers powerful management, fault-finding and configuration facilities for connected IO-Link sensors and devices; moneo infopoints which

gases even in fluctuating process and ambient conditions, the Prosonic Flow G ensures precise measured values (up to ±0.5% o.r.) with impressive repeatability. Its robust design and corrosion resistance mean it is suitable for applications including gas processing, process gas measurement, separator gas outlets, boiler inlets and CHP biogas. The ultrasonic measurement is unaffected even when measuring moist or wet gases due to the sensor, which drains away any condensate that forms. The optional built-in temperature and

pressure sensors means the flowmeter can simultaneously detect multiple measured values. Also optional is the advanced gas analysis function that enables the calculation of process variables such as corrected volume flow, mass flow, energy flow and methane content. https://eh.digital/prosonic-g_uk

MONITOR THREE KEY PROCESS VARIABLES WITH A SINGLE SENSOR Volumetric flow, flow velocity and temperature measurement – three of the most important variables

which help to ensure efficient process control. So, wouldn’t it be convenient if you could measure ALL of these variables in a single flow meter? With the latest range of electromagnetic flow meters, the PF55S and PF75H/S from BAUMER, it’s now possible.

Designed for industrial applications these compact flow meters are suitable for applications with high flow velocities up to 10 m/s, with the PF75H/S capable of measuring media with a conductivity of 5 µS/cm and available in a hygienic or a robust industrial design.

Thanks to the design of these electromagnetic flow sensors, precision combined with long-term stable and reliable measurement is assured with accuracy of up to 0.2%. The combination of precise measurement of volumetric flow and flow velocity means tasks such as volume balancing, mixing and dosage processes can be optimised and controlled accurately. The result is the use of valuable resources such as liquid foods, chemicals, or fresh water can be minimised, helping to save energy, generating less waste and reducing costs.

The flow meters feature coreless air coils which generate a stable, temperature independent magnetic field. This, combined with a continuous, free-flowing measurement tube without constrictions or other fittings, contributes to more efficient process control, prevents pressure loss in the system and helps to optimise the pump performance.

The CombiSeries display provides all the key information needed, helping users to monitor increasingly complex process data and measured values. This offers advantages such as uniform operation and process monitoring across the entire CombiSeries sensor range, including temperature, pressure, conductivity and flow measurement. Baumer

collects data from connected devices; moneo RTM-AVA which provides the ability to record vibration spectrum for detailed analysis; and moneo edgeconnect, which allows easy interchange of data between ifm sensors and devices connected to your moneo installation with your IT systems. To complement the software modules, ifm

is offering moneo appliance, a ruggedised industrial PC that is preconfigured for moneo implementations. The modules are also available in versions that can be used on a standard PC running Microsoft Windows.
